I think OSU is going to have some problems stopping Jamaal Charles. Texas will have problems stopping Ginn. It should be a great game. However, I will be in Neyland watching the Vols beat the team who apparently can't recruit "speed."

Texas... believe they've got the better defense, and if some back from Northern Illinois, no matter how good he is, can shred Ohio State's defense, what will a whole team full of playmaking athletes do?

Just read something on cbs sportsline website. Two TX starters CB Brown and Special teams player Gatewood were suspended for OSU game for arrest on misdemeanor charges.

agreed...i think it will be closer than most will think, and fairly high scoring, something like 31-27....and TX's d makes the biggest difference. if you're looking at edges for this game, i'd have to say that TX has an advantage on d...and TX should be able to put some points on the board.

the difference could be just in that TX's d could hold OSU to a couple of feild goals where TX gets a couple of TD's....

Did Mack Brown release the #1 DB that got busted for weed and a gun?

OSU by 10

Can you give some analysis on this prediction? I'm curious to hear the other opinion.

Troy Smith does not = Vince Young

Ted Ginn is a tad overrated as a WR (he's solid, but he's an excellent return guy)

Antonio Pittman is the most important player on tOSU's roster.

Jamaal Charles is better and more athletic than Garrett Wolfe (NIU's RB).

Colt McCoy is playing his first important game AT HOME.

Mack Brown suspending the guy that was supposed to cover Ginn may have done Texas in. However, I still believe that Ginn's abilities as a receiver are vastly overrated. He is a marginal route-runner and a so-so catcher, who just so happens to be among the fastest men playing football, amateur or professional.

A good defensive scheme by Brown could still potentially stop Ginn.

Texas' defense should also meet handling Troy Smith and Antonio Pittman. Both sides should meet with moderate success there.

Ohio State will have a very difficult time stopping Texas, though. I know they are without Vince Young, but a decent offensive unit is still in place here. This may prove to be too much of a challenge too early for an Ohio State defensive unit who is too young and too inexperienced.

So... I say this game comes down to Ginn proving his abilities as a receiver.

Texas wins, the home advantage along with their tough offensive line will be enough...

Just to put in my two cents Texas D will win the day if OSU had one of the three LB's they lost last year I would give them the edge but I don't see them pulling this off at Texas. Texas losing their best corner is going to make it more interesting but they'll figure out a way to stop Ginn.

So, if Texas does win on Saturday, do they lose a game all year? Maybe at Nebraska in October???

Yes. Texas won't run the table. Oklahoma or Nebraska will beat them. Last year happened because they managed to get a guy like Vince Young while Oklahoma was on a very down year.

v. OU will be tougher than last season, as VY was the man who made Texas what they were

@ Nebraska and @ Texas Tech is a tough back to back coupling, and they will probably lose 1, unless Colt McCoy is a super frosh.

Do you want to know what the "MAIN" topic on the radio stations up here is?

How OSU fans are going to be treated on their trip to Austin.

Last year, lets just say, that some Texas fans were treated inappropiately.

I worked at OSU for a couple of years and have first hand experience with their fans.

It is a small minority that cause problems, but Ohio people are rude by nature.....LOL it is a joke!

Other than that the consensus up here is that Ohio State will win by 20 and their defense is fine. "Tress" did not want to show the Texas staff any thing so that is why the defense played out of position and were handled by a small offensive line.

Very impressive win for The Ohio State.

So much for their defense being weak... Freshman QB or not, holding that Texas team to a single TD is very impressive.
