"I think Tennessee is close to offering me."

"Coach [Lance] Thompson from Tennessee is coming to our practice Monday. Coach [Bobby] Williams from Alabama has already come by the school.

"I would say Tennessee is my favorite right now," he said. "They are showing the most interest. I like their offense. I have talked to coach Thompson a couple of times, and I like him. I like Louisisna Tech. Coach [Tommy] Spangler is really nice. I like their offense."

Blanchard plans to attend camp this summer at Alabama and Tennessee.

This came from Scout on May 11... I kept hearing this guy's name being thrown around so decided to look him up. He is not rated by Scout, but on Rivals he is a 3star and the #22 Pro-Style QB in the nation. He is tearing it up at camps. I read at least 4 articles that talked about him being a sleeper who might be the real deal...

A number of players are still looking for that first offer, and none more surprising than Cherokee County's Coty Blanchard. Looking very comfortable in the pocket, Blanchard had the arm, was very accurate, and may have had the best footwork of any of the quarterbacks on the practice field in Athens. Schools would do well to check out the 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect next week, and whoever Blanchard signs with will be getting a steal.

i say take him. heck, sign 4,5, or 6 different QBs if need be. sign em all and let kiffin sort em out!

i wonder if it matters which assistant coach visits the player? If Thompson comes as oppossed to Chaney or Orgeron? I know Alabama is Thompson's territory but is the interest really going to lead to an offer unless Chaney or big O pay a visit?

i like this kid, he needs a good bit of work, but i hear he did well in camp, i think the coaches need to get another look at him, and besides i dont think it would be hard to take him away from jacksonville state.

man i cant belive we are still on this, 6'1 isnt bad at all, and we are talking about a 16 year old kid, good chance he is 6'2 or 3 by time he gets on campus, most people say brees is only about 5'10 or 11. our quarterback dosent have to be 6'3 plus. i dont know why people cant get this idealation out of there head. im not going off on you vader, just saying.

5'10 if true, thats just under where it starts to become a problem IMO. ive got a great little QB right now, hes a jr but hes only 5'7. we have a couple packages for him, but im thankfull we got the transfer kid from TX. hes 6'1 170 and only a fr. could be a D1 prospect by time its said and done if he keeps his head on straight.

I haven't heard much about this guy yet. He goes to a relatively small high school. It's a 4A program (out of 6 divisions in AL), but I don't know a lot about the competition level in the region. He did lead a high powered offense to the 4A state championship game last year.
