When asked what he would do if he didn’t finish in time, Orr said he was unsure. Then he dropped a recruiting bombshell when he mentioned he might have other options.

“There are other different pressures,” Orr said.

From whom?

“There are so many schools saying things,” Orr said. “Right now, I can go to maybe four other schools to play left tackle next year.”

He named three of the colleges still pursuing him: Florida State, Miami and Tennessee.

As Leon Orr tries to graduate early, is he wavering on UF pledge? | Home Team | Tampabay.com

even though he mostly plays TE on offense in high school if he has his heart set on left tackle it's possible he goes elsewhere as Florida wants him as a DT. probably not Tennessee though.

Im encouraged that he's mentioning us. Could he be the reason we let Jose go?

Starting/PT for a kid who hasn't played much tackle in HS? Hope he can get in as an EE but he has visit set up with Meyer and McCarney this week. Not sure why UF wouldn't try him at OL since Chaz isn't heading that way. The DL rotation is set for next year so it wouldn't hurt giving him a shot at OT IMO. Hear he runs like a 4.7-4.8 40 thats impressive for a kid that size.

Probably because we're stacked on the offensive line. We recruited an entire offensive line last season, nobody is departing this year unless either of the Pounceys get 1st or 2nd round grades (not very likely for underclassman interior linemen) and OT Ian Silberman is already on board.

barring attrition and any further additions then 2010's offensive line will likely look like this:

SO Nick Alaljajian 4*
RSR Marcus Gilbert 4* (starting RT)
RFR Jon Halapio 3*
RFR Jonathan Harrison 4*
RSR Maurice Hurt 3*
RSR Carl Johnson 5* (starting LG)
RFR Kyle Koehne 3*
SO Xavier Nixon 4* (starting LT 2nd half of season)
JR Matt Patchan 5* (starting LT before injury)
SR Maurkice Pouncey 4* (starting C)
SR Mike Pouncey 4* (starting RG)
RSO Sam Robey 3*
FR Ian Silberman 4*
RJR James Wilson 5*
RSO David Young 3*

You guys just started recruiting Moses hard. Any connection?

I think it will be intersting to see who does come out for the NFL from UF. It has been said numerous times here that with the lower rookie $$$ next year, they will have some leave early. Once that bowl is over, it will be easy to see who will jump ship.

Orr is slotted at DT and is the only DT we have in this class. Going hard after Moses has nothing to do with Orr. It has more to do with the possibility of 3 OL leaving and knowing Chaz Green is going to UT. We put a lot of our chips in on Chaz and now we are scrambling to fill at least another OL sport. We have been recruiting Moses for a while anyways.

Moses, Mack and Linder are all being looked at as replacements for the twins. Rumor was Moses was going to switch his commit to UF but was told that UF wants him as an OG not OT. Ian and Henderson are the only tackles they would take in this class. Really sounds like UT, FSU and Canes are getting after the coach to twist his arm and filling his head with "you can come in and play OT in SEC" crap. What i'm hearing is his coach is the one pushing to look around.

"Orr will graduate from Gulf in a matter of days. Though he will graduate high school, he doesn't yet have the necessary core credits that he needs to attend Florida. He had some (liberal arts) credits that he thought were good, rejected, so he is taking a math and a science course online in an attempt to get the necessary core credits. Orr wants to play offensive line on the next level, not along the defensive line where UF is projecting him." -GB MOD

It was reported by "X" that he finished two online courses successfully but still has a third to finish by friday... a direct quote from Orr stated he had 15 assignments to finish for completion...

I'd defintely fill a space with Simms over Moses anyday.. That kid just can't get it together.. There is always some issue with him.. and I as well beleive he is overrated as UVM said
