Quote:
Class of 2010 ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey has already received offers from Tennessee, Oregon and Florida International, affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

However, he's waiting on the hometown Hurricanes, "It would be great to get an offer from Miami. If I get it, I am going to go there. I like the tradition that they have at Miami. It is great to be a Hurricane."

Florida also figures to be in the mix for Godfrey, who threw for 1,287 yards and 13 touchdowns with four interceptions, while running for 345 yards and seven touchdowns last fall.

is this a Fulmer offer?

call me crazy, I don't see this guy being the prototypical Kiffin QB... :)

Has to be an offer from the older staff, this kid is def not a Kiffin type QB plus he is pretty short.

The guy is 5'11'' and 167 lbs. I don't see him being an SEC QB. Unless they can get him to grow 4 inches and put on 30-40 lbs doesn't make sense to me. Maybe he gets converted to WR or DB

Scout.com: Godfrey Will Take his Time

By S. Webb. Interview with Godfrey's father. Says his son told him he wants a shot at QB. Says his son isn't leaning anywhere, be it Miami, Michigan or anywhere else. Says pretty much every school claims they will give Jeffrey a shot at QB, but he knows some wouldn't actually give him a shot. Distance will not be a factor.

I don't like how a bunch of our recruits are talking about Miami so much.
Then again, thats gonna happen when you go to South Florida I guess.

He is in Miami's backyards and probably grew up a Cane so I wouldn't think anything of it. The same goes for any other Florida school.

From CaneSport...USF leads because they have also offered teammates Brandon Gainer and Joshua Reese...Miami is a close second but has not ffered Gainer or Reese and the three would like to go to school together.

"I want a school where I can come in and get a fighting chance to be the starting quarterback right away because I don't like to sit," says Godfrey, who lists 12 offers including the likes of Georgia and Michigan.

Of UM, Godfrey says, "They have a great program. They have great coaches. Coach Ice (Tim Harris) - I know him personally. I've been talking to coach (Micheal) Barrow. He was my coach at Edison. Me and him are real close. We talk about me coming to Miami, coming in there. He says I can be great for his offense as a quarterback, can get some playing time behind Jacory Harris, which would be great to do."

"(Teammate) Joshua (Reese) hasn't been offered by Miami," Godfrey said. "If Miami offers him they'd be in first by a lot."

Godfrey adds that his decision "won't come until signing day regardless."

Miami Central High School standout Jeffrey Godfrey says he has some colleges recruiting him as a receiver, others as a quarterback.

Those that tell him they want him at receiver he quickly eliminates.

"Some want me as a slot receiver, but I've been playing quarterback my whole life so I have no idea why some schools want me at receiver," Godfrey said.

No way Kiffin takes this kid as a QB. BTW, he's 6'0" 185 lbs now.

His Dad is a coach, and he plays in one of Florida's tougest leagues and has been a very productive QB. Also, he was the top QB at the Miami Combine. Yes he's 6'0 so was Drew Brees, bet he could get more done than any QB we have right now.

That's irrelevant. He isn't Kiffin's kind of QB. No way in hell we take him to play QB.

Yea like just because someone is 6'3+ and immobile makes him a true find. I hope Kiffin finds what he's looking for, because he's passing up on a lot of talented QB's that would run circles around what he currently have. Heaps aint coming so hopefully he can find a decent second tier QB.

I agree. I don't get it either.

2. Jeffrey Godfrey: Godfrey possesses the state's top arm, an absolute cannon. A very good athlete, Godfrey should excel in a shotgun based attack that utilizes his athleticism and ability to throw on the run. He lacks ideal height at 6'0, but in the right offense that should not be an issue. Currently, he holds offers from Tennessee, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, and FIU.

So we have no interest in the guy, even though he has an offer from Tennessee ?
