Tampa Bay Tech running back Maurice Hagens, who will be one of the area's top football recruits this year, received a scholarship offer Kansas, Titans coach C.C. Culpepper said.
Hagens now owns six major Division I offers. He has also received offers from Tennessee, LSU, Wake Forest, South Carolina and Purdue.
Culpepper said that Hagens is also receiving serious interest from Florida State and Florida. He said he's expecting an offer from the Noles soon and Hagens attended UF's junior day.
"He's getting a lot of interest," Culpepper said. "The biggest thing about Maurice is his work ethic on the field and in the classroom. He's a great kid and he's taken everything in stride."
This past year, the Jawhawks scooped up on of Hillsborough County's top prospects, Jesuit receiver Erick McGriff, the son of former major leaguer Fred McGriff.
