Clarence Jackson Profile - Football Recruiting

Scout.com: Clarence Jackson Profile

"Right now the only one we have set up for is Ole Miss on June 10th, and we will probably end up at Tennessee. The rest of the visits are just unofficial visits."

Where does Tennessee stand right now?

"They just fell off last year. They have had some problems recruiting kids who really wanted to play and academically being able to stay in school. But Coach Ed Orgeron, I did a little research on him. In fact, he came from Ole Miss. I read his book and it was pretty good. He is a great recruiter. I think they are about to start recruiting like they use to. They have a young head coach, so we will watch them close this year, but they have always had a really good program."

Per Scout and those quotes were from his father... UT has just offered along with Ole Miss, NC State, UNC, and East Carolina. Georgia, Bama, and Auburn are also starting to show interest...

His father also says that the Vols are recruiting him as a RB. In a previous Rivals article, Clarence said that most schools are recruiting him as a LB, but he prefers to play RB...

"I knew I was ready to commit a couple of weeks ago so I just went ahead and called Coach Price this morning to let him know the news. He was very excited. He did not even know what to say. Coach Price just said that he was flattered."

Who came in second?

"Tennessee. They were up there too, but Ole Miss was in my heart."

Per Scout... He just committed to Ole Miss...

He has a big old heart...and Ole Miss is quite a bit smaller than Tennessee, so it only makes sense.

Yeah there is an article on rivals today. Apparently Lane didn't like him as much as Lance did, so now Dooley and Lance have opened it back up.

Looks like if the kid wanted to come up he could drive up after his test and spend the night and go home Sunday. That would be better than not visiting at all, and it's not that long of a drive. If we got him on campus with our lack of depth at LB we might could turn him.

I think it's too late in the game here, unfortunately...

I don't see Nutt losing this kid at this time.
