We must have picked up a solid QB for these WR's to commit unexpectedly. I knew that we were recruiting Ambles hard, but thought that FL was the leader and tough to beat out. This is great news. Totally makes my day!

After Ambles and the UF coaches met they decided to go in different directions. Not sure why because I think Ambles is a good player. Guess you have to trust your coaches.

I don't care about his 40-time much, his offer list tells the real story of his ability. The only chapter that's unknown is attitude-based. This is still a great pickup.

For those that said our WR recruits hinge on Jesse Scroggins, I hope this eases your tensions. Tennessee is the product and CLK is selling it. Lamaison may look like Brees throwing to Ambles, Nuke and Milton.

Hope Ambles comes in with a level head and plays hard. This staff hasn't seemed willing to put up with much so he may not be on board long if he doesn't check his attitude at the door.

That said you have to think all the scholarships he's had pulled would put a big chip on his shoulder and he will come in ready to ball!

His 40 time is tight-endish. I hope this was "non-wind aided."

It was electronically timed which is probably in the range of what most major D-1 WR prospects would run.

99% of the 4.3's and 4.4's you see out there are not electronically timed and thus fake.

According to SPARQ you can drop .24 off a recruits electronic 40 times to get his "hand-held" 40 time. So his hand held time would be in the 4.41 range.

I am totally OK with that. If UT can pick up Milton as well, I think that will open up some doors with QB's. If they see all this talent coming in, they will want to be a part of it as well. Let's keep this going in a positive direction....

i don't think this guy will cross the staff...if he does he is done. and i think getting his head knocked off a few times by janzen, myles, and joyner (yes...i said joyner) will keep him humble. besides Wilks will still be there next year.

I'm not sure how much of a legit chance they have with Prater but they are in great shape with Milton and Cobbs...

This is so true. The fastest times run at NFL combines are 4.3's 4.4's. Just like Percy Harvin ran a 4.1 coming out of High School. Goes to the combine an ran a 4.44.

Ambles is plenty fast. 4.28 in the shuttle is more important IMO.
