This is so true. The fastest times run at NFL combines are 4.3's 4.4's. Just like Percy Harvin ran a 4.1 coming out of High School. Goes to the combine an ran a 4.44.

Ambles is plenty fast.

Exactly.

4.65 electronic time is plenty fast. It equates to a hand held 4.41 and many of these prospects in Rivals database have their profiles updated with hand held times that are not legit 40 times.

Chad Johnson always talks about how he never ran a fast 40. It's more about your quickness on the field. Either way you look at it, this is a good pickup!

Huge get imo. Milton hopefully will follow suit and then imagine how easy it would be to turn any of the QBs out there.

From ESPN.com:

ESPN's Billy Tucker added, "Ambles is a major get for Tennessee as Kiffin has landed another future game-changer on offense to team up with ESPN's No. 2 running back from 2009, Bryce Brown (Wichita, Kan./East). After closing strong on the trail last year, the Vols' 2010 class was comprised of some quality, particularly on the defensive line, but were missing an upper-tier prospect, until now."

"Having just watched Ambles work out at Florida's Friday Night Lights camp, its hard not be impressed with the physical tools and skill-set he brings to the table as a receiver. His fluidity and athleticism for a taller wideout may be unparalleled in this year's talented receiver class; could make an immediate impact in Knoxville as a redzone player with his jump-ball skills. Aside from his great pass-catching skills, Ambles has plenty of speed to threaten a defense vertically as a route runner and after the catch with ball in his hands. This kid is savvy as well in terms of knowing the position which should only assist his chances of making an immediate impact for Tennessee."

Sounds like we have a great one on our hands.

Nice. Just curious... who did they have ahead of Brown?

I like this pickup...Like I said in the other thread, I think the dropped offers will motivate him and hopefully give him a chip on his shoulder.

After Ambles and the UF coaches met they decided to go in different directions. Not sure why because I think Ambles is a good player. Guess you have to trust your coaches.

Riiiiiiiigggghhhht.... That seems to happen quite frequently with players that were considering Flo-Rida & any other school. It's amazing how often the "directions" of the UF staff dictate the foreseeable future of so many 17-18 year old kids.

Get a clue bro. Unless you are being patched in to the recruiting meetings by Urban via the Subway Fresh Fit Hotline (ESPN radio reference), you don't know diddley sh*t.

This is huge. Kid is smooth ad silk. Just hope he keeps his nose clean

This is a great pickup but if he was leaning heavy to Florida, it worries that Florida might come in late knowing this kid may have wanted to go there.

Hopefully we'll get a few more WR and some good OL and this class will be solid

getting Ambles can not do anything but help with recruiting....now if he is solid UT...he may become a very good recruiter

He was a Tennessee lean but, it was down to UT and UF.

I think he's solid.

"I'm going to recruit for my team now," he said. "They think I can help with bringing in a quarterback and I think I can help that as well. I'm going to start making some calls right away and I need to get myself a Tennessee hat now and wear it wherever I go. I'm a Vol now."

"The coaching staff showed me love," Ambles said. "I loved the way the staff coached me at camp. I love the attention they showed me during the recruiting process and when I thought about it, Tennessee was a perfect fit. I think Tennessee is going to be good in the future. I think they are on the rise and I want to be a part of what they are doing."

Ambles said he solid to the Vols and is going to turn his attention to helping recruit others to Tennessee.

sweet

Gotta love that attitude.

F'ing LOVE THIS. My buddy just texted me and said, "Isn't this the kid who said the coaching staff was getting 'crunk'?" Nice.

If we land, Milton and Prater on top of landing Ambles, a QB will come.

"If you build it, they will come"

Gotta love this quote. It is really nice to get some good news on the recruiting front it had been a tough couple weeks with the Scroggins BS and the WR injuries!
