Apparently did VERY well at the UCLA camp this past weekend and was immediately offered by Norm Chow and UCLA after the camp. According to one recruiting guy who watched the camp, it was the best performance he had seen this year and he's seen all the big QB's in Cali throw including Scroggins.

I'm sure there will be several guys that pop up throughout the year that we dont know about at this point. Is the staff looking at this kid at all yet?

At this point I would say that there are several prospects they are looking at not named Scroggins, Heaps, or Hendrix. I'm not going to be AT ALL disappointed if we don't get a commitment from Scroggins or Hendrix.

I don't think I would either but I would just like to see a QB commit already so we can start getting some OL commits rolling but I guess I'm a little too impatient. I will trust the staff's decision on what prospects they take and I'm sure they will continue to look for other big time QB prospects if they pop up.

Couldn't disagree more. Both of these guys are known top QBs and in order to pull other big names we need one of them. True, a diamond in the rough quarterback may put us in good shape when it's all said and done however it's more important to have someone that has performed well at the camps and that is on the Rivals/Scout recruiting radar at this point.

The reason we don't have but 1 offensive commitment isn't because we don't have a QB commit, but rather the fact we have yet to see what it looks like during the season. It's going to take a good 1-2 years to show what we have so that way it makes it easier for offensive prospects to choose us. Also, it's freaking June, just wanted to throw that out there. :)

If this staff doesn't get a 2010 QB at all I won't be disappointed. This staff has a plan and I trust in them that they will get it done!

I would be. We would start the 2010 season with only 1 scholarship QB on our roster and Mike Rosier who more than likly won't turn out to be a quarterback that can win us some ball games. IMO

A guy has a good camp and now he's the second coming of Manning. Stay focused people. Do we know if our staff is evaluating him?

Thats what the people at Florida State said about Weinke, give the guy a chance. You never know what might happen.

I spoke with a former pitcher for the Red Sox who was there with Rosier. He said he had a poor work ethic, wasn't very bright, and wasn't at all athletic enough to play QB, particularly in the SEC. Also mentioned he tried to act like he was a thug and just generally had a bad attitude.

Take it fwiw, but the guy I spoke with is a class guy who was obviously uneasy talking bad about one of his former teammates. I had to drill to get an honest opinion from him.
