The last few weeks have been very good for Fullerton (Calif.) Community College offensive tackle John Cullen.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder said he added three new scholarship offers including another from an SEC school.

"I have seven now," said Cullen. "Hawaii, Utah and Tennessee recently offered. They all offered in the last month."

"Auburn, Tennessee and Utah are my top three schools right now. They are the ones recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I like Auburn's traditions. I like (offensive line) coach (Jeff) Grimes. "He seems like he's a cool coach to be around. He seems easy-going, but he would make you work. He's a guy you can talk to, a guy that would coach you but you could go talk to later.

"I also like that they have a big rivalry game. There's always something to make you work even harder."

Don't forget how those idiots at Auburn call their team two different names.

That'd seal the deal for me.

Auburn traditions? Like writing your name in excrement on bathroom walls before graduation?

I think we end up with two JC linemen. This kid looks to be the best we are in on. There is one other on the list I attached from Scout. Riley Gauld who has one star which means (at least I think he hasn't been rated yet). Both fit the mold of lean athletic linemen that we seem to be recruiting. I couldn't find much info on him though.

Yup. To me, every SEC game is a rivalry game. Some are just a bit bigger than others.

Admit it......would you wanna lose to Vandy and UK?? One's in-state, the other's the next state up....then you gotta hear their fans crowing all year......

"I'm a very, very athletic offensive lineman," said Cullen, who will have a three-year window to play two seasons starting next year as a junior-college transfer. "That's one of the biggest things I was worried about when I started getting a couple of SEC offers. I was like, 'In the SEC, they want the big, 6-7, 6-8, 330, 340 maulers. That's not the kind of player I am.'

"Tennessee said they're sort of going in a different direction. They want more athletic linemen that they can do more with and move around. I was like, 'All right.'"

"Coach Cregg told me that they want to get me there as soon as I can -- in the spring, if possible -- and start putting me in right away so I can start working toward a starting spot."

"Coach Cregg, I've been talking to him the most," Cullen said. "He's a really cool guy. He seems like a good coach and easy enough to be around, as coaches go. And (recruiting coordinator Ed) Orgeron, to me, is like everything I've ever heard about the guy. He's just full of energy and pumped up all the time. He's going 100 percent, like he's on the field, every time you talk to him.

"Talking to (head coach Lane) Kiffin, I told all my friends, it was kind of weird. It was like, 'Wow. I've seen you on TV, like, 100 times, and you're telling me how much you need me to come play for you after coaching in the NFL.' That was really cool."

"I'm not the biggest guy, but if I get on you, I'm going to go until the whistle blows -- and then a little bit after, just to finish you. My strongest point is my pass blocking because that's what I've been doing since high school. We ran a spread (offense), and it's just always been a natural thing for me to do."

Says he is happy tennessee is talking to him. He loves Coach O, and was shocked when Kiffin called him and was told he needed him after seeing him on tv in the NFL. Says he has one visit set up and its tennessee vs. georgia game october 10th. He just wants to feel comfortable with the team and with the coaches. <----- MAIN FOCUS.
