Anyone have an opinion or seen tape on the juco lineman Gayden? Scout shows as a 4star. First I've heard of him. I still think we will take at least 2 JUCOs on the O-line with what we have leaving after this year.:td: GO VOLS

We are definitely showing interest in Gayden as well. There are at least 5 solid JUCO OL that we are recruiting, but we have only offered two of them. I agree with the OP, we will take 2 JUCO OL. I think we like Curry and Cullen the most right now though...

I'm curious if we'll get involved with Daniel Campbell. He was at Hargrave last year after he couldn't get into USC.

He's supposed to play at Navarro Junior College this fall. I'm unsure if he'll be class of 2010 or 2011.

I'd think Morgan Moses would be another guy to watch since he couldn't get in to UVA and he was the #5 OT in 2009. He is gonna be at Fork Union Military this coming year.

Didn't the majority of big name schools back off of him late in his recruitment? Just too fat and slow.

OIC.

But there is no way he was a legit #5 tackle prospect.

His potential is sky high. A lot of linemen come in overweight. That's why D1 schools have the best conditioning programs in the nation. Moses will be a good one if he ever makes it into school.

I have been talking to a couple of other schools like UCLA, Oregon, Utah, Tennessee, Fresno State, Arizona, Auburn, and I actually just got off the phone with the offensive line coach at Ole Miss. They just started recruiting me. We have a lot players from over here who go to Ole Miss every year. They are another school I would like to check out. Tennessee and Auburn too. Playing in the SEC is real attractive for me

Moses has a lot of potential but he is someone who has a long long way to go to ever reach it both on and off the field. Think Aubrey Phillips type work ethic.

You guys please get off of Morgan Moses. The kid is not that good. He is lazy and not aggressive. His films are against some of the weaker talent in the region. The kid from Varina that is headed to VT ate his lunch in the regional semifinal game. I have seen this kid play in person for several years.

We are in complete agreement on this one.

"Miami and Oklahoma recently offered and I just got offered by Tennessee," Gayden said. "I went to Oklahoma for a visit, kind of unexpectedly, it went real well. I haven't set up anymore official visits yet. I do know that I want to visit the University of California."

"Coach Christian and Coach Smith are recruiting me for ASU," Gayden said. "I have been hearing from them a lot. They have opportunity for me to play right away. They have a good coaching staff and program too. They are one of the schools I am deciding about visiting right now along with Miami, Oregon, Ole Miss and Tennessee."

Per Rivals... This pretty big news. He just got an offer from UT. The coaches must've liked what they saw from him in their evaluations in the Cali JUCOs this past week. Like Cullen, he won't be graduating from JUCO until May. Looks we are going to get an official visit from him...

And look at that offer list. You won't find many (if any) JUCO players with an offer list that impressive: Arizona St., Cal, Arkansas, Iowa St., Miami, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Tennessee...

Juco olinemen are very important b/c our oline is going to be so inexperienced next year.

I'm not saying he doesn't have that offer list, but one has to wonder how accurate it is based on what he is telling people.

From today's article...

Gayden, an all-conference performer in 2008, had been hoping to finish school this fall and enroll in the college of his choice for the spring semester. Gayden said that scenario looks unlikely right now.
