Ht: 6-foot-2
Wt: 255 lbs
Forty: 4.7 secs

I listed him as an athlete, because he's a LB/RB at the high school level and in addition to those two positions, some are interested in trying him at defensive end.

Willis is a state champion in the shotput and discus. As a junior, he rushed for 1700 yards and had 700 receiving yards.

Excerpt from a Rivals article---

Hopefully I'll go down there to Knoxville and they offer me as a defensive end. I've talked to Coach (John) Chaney and he said they want to try me at defensive end.

at the beginning of his 2nd clip, you can see him catch a ball on the run over his shoulder 30 yards down the field. pretty impressive for a guy playing at 240+.

It sounds like there's work to be done, in order to improve his initial burst off the line, but he's certainly an intriguing prospect if he works hard with the right staff.

ESPN's Scouts, Inc. evaluation---

Defensively, he shows good short-area power and leverage at the point of attack often jolting blockers back and stalemating the cutoff. Fills hard and strong versus downhill runs and makes solid contact as a tackler but overall lacks great reactive athleticism and struggles to beat blockers to the hole and slip linemen at the second level. Lateral agility when scraping is marginal and like on offense we feel he may be limited to situational downs. Overall, Willis is a very impressive physical prospect with tools to mold on either side of the ball. Lacks a bit of agility and fast-twitched athleticism to be ranked higher as a prospect at this time.

His film looks good but it's hard to judge a KY kid considering the level of competition in that state. May be one of the worst HS football states in the country.

Perhaps the most punishing running back and one of the top prospects in the Commonwealth this fall comes from Western Kentucky - Calloway County's Tyrrell Willis.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Willis ran for 1,703 yards and 19 touchdowns and also caught 35 passes for 711 yards and 11 TDs as a junior.

Now, he's trying to hone his skills and is getting all sorts of attention from colleges.

"I never really saw myself getting as many calls as I am now," Willis said. "I just get a big 'ol smile everytime I get a call from a college. I feel like I am just blessed."

Willis is blessed with a power running style and a 4.7 40-yard dash speed. He likes running back and some college project him at that position, while others see him as a linebacker, defensive end and perhaps even a bit of a defensive lineman.

"If I keep eating like I am then I might be an offensive lineman," Willis joked. "I love running back and I love running the ball, but I am willing to play anywhere."

Louisville and Memphis are the two offers that Willis currently carries, while he still hears from Western Kentucky, Central Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Illinois and Purdue.

Willis said he has visited Alabama and UK and noted that he expects an offer from Central Michigan at some point soon in the recruiting process.

"I want to go the best school that fits me and my future," he said. "I would love stay close to my family, but I want the best school for me."

He looks beastly for sure.....but I would be curious as to the level of his competition. KY is less of a "hot bed" for talent than even TN is (without Memphis factored in).
