One of the top WRs in 2010. Has been offered by us per rivals. Shows interest level as high for Ole Miss. Plays on same team as Pat Patterson played for. Pretty big guy.

""Tennessee, Ole Miss, and MSU all came by here today to watch practice," added Vincent Sanders. Saban also called this week.

He pretty much told me the same things. He also wanted to know how my grades were coming along. Coach Saban was pleased."

Tennessee sent Frank Wilson, the former Ole Miss assistant, to visit the 6' 2", 185 pound athlete.

"He came, but I did not talk to him at the practice. He called me last night, and we talked for an hour. We just talked about their depth chart at receiver and how many receivers they have graduating. He wants me to come to one of their camps and just hang out. He said all of the coaches put on their best face when they come recruit you so he wanted me to see how he coaches on the field.

Camp plans for this summer?

"I know I am going to the 7 on 7 camp at Alabama, USM, and Ole Miss. I am going to USM's individual camp and i am going to try to go to Tennessee and Alabama's too.

“One of my top offers is from Tennessee,” Sanders told InsideTennessee.com recently. “I call Coach Wilson quite a bit, I enjoy talking to him.”

According to Sanders, Tennessee is recruiting him as hard as anyone at this point.

“I may make it to one of their one day camps around the first of June,” Sanders said. “My plans right now are to attend their skill camp.”

I think Ole Miss is the team to beat with Pat Patterson going there but Tennessee is coming on strong. Watch out for Alabama too.

This kid's stock is on the rise. An excerpt from a Rivals article from last week:

The final game of the evening featured one of the top teams in Mississippi, the defending 4A state champions, Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County. Noxubee County also happened to feature one of the top players in the state in wide receiver Vincent Sanders.

Sanders lived up to his billing on Saturday night with several spectacular receptions. He seemingly was able to make a play whenever he wanted to. After setting up his team in the red zone with some nice gains only to see the opportunities squandered, Sanders didn't squander his own opportunity to score on a jump pass in the end zone. He snagged his touchdown pass over two Provine defenders for the lone score of the game.

With size, speed, hands and acceleration, Sanders should be in the conversation as one of the top wide receivers in the southeast and one of the top prospects in Mississippi.

Fits right in with Kiffin's system. Would be a great get

Wide receiver Vincent Sanders (Macon, Miss./Noxubee County) still has Alabama and Mississippi State as his top two and says that he plans to make an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa on the weekend of June 6.

He also said that Miami (Fla.) and Arkansas are showing him strong interest and could be close to offering.

There are more players for him than I thought... Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss St, UT, and possibly Miami. It would be hard to get him out of Mississippi and if he does, I'm worried about Bama. I wouldn't be surprised if he waits til NSD to commit but Bama could also put some pressure on him since they are in on so many WR recruits. The longer we have for Coach Wilson to develop a relationship with Sanders, the better our chances. We're still catching up on most guys for 2010, so that's why this recruiting class started off slower than most people expected or were hoping for.

If we can manage to get to a bowl game, I think 2010 NSD (and after...?) will be better than 2009 NSD (and after).

At the Super Jamboree Showcase in Mississippi - an event that was loaded with talented teams and players - Sanders set himself apart.

We would like to see him at UA but I dont think it will happen. Supposedly we are high on his list but if he don't commit soon he wont wearing Crimson I don't think. We are running out of room and the few spots we have left are for certian positions. So I hope he commits soon but if not to bad for us. Would be a nice pick up.

Bump... #100 now on Rivals100. #2 ranked player in the state of Mississippi.

Excelled on both sides of the ball as a junior with seven interceptions and nearly a 30-yard receiving average on offense.

Everybody is even for me right now but I'd say Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee are the ones that are after me the hardest. It's still so early for me and I really can't put anybody out in front but I'm definitely going to try to make it to Tuscaloosa for a game this fall if I can.

"I plan on going to a lot of games," he said. "I am going to go to one every Saturday. I know I am going to check out Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Alabama. I will probably go to Texas Tech for an official visit. I will probably just take one official visit during the season."

Per Scout... He says he isn't gonna announce his decision to NSD...

The other school recruiting Sanders only as a wide receiver is Tennessee and he says he talked with head coach Lane Kiffin on Monday, Sept. 7. “That was my first time talking to him,” he said. “He asked me what I thought of their game (a 63-7 victory over Western Kentucky). He said they played like 11 freshman.

“It was cool talking to him,” he said. “I like how straight-forward he is. We didn’t really talk very long, but he said he’ll be calling again. I definitely have a lot of respect for him and what he did at USC. He’s used to winning. I also love the coaches he brought in like Ed Orgeron and Monte Kiffin.”

Lane is working calling recruits on holidays. This staff doesn't take any time off!

This actually might hurt with true freshman playing in some positions. Especially at WR where you have signed a few already and two that apparantly will be there for three more years starting once the 2010 class arrives.

Competition is what makes great teams. That is what this staff has brought to UT. No matter how we look at a postition, we are going to recruit the best players at that position next year. Everyone will have a chance to come in and play if you prove it on the field. USC has recruited like this ever since Carroll got there. They have five 5 star recruits in their backfield and are bringing in two more elite backs in this class.

USC can do it because they are in the NC hunt each year. UT might be a year or two away. Competition is great and coaches can tell you what you want to hear all day long but in the end it is what you do on the field. When UT gets back into the NC hunt each year than yes recruits will come in with the understanding that they might have to sit the bench 1 or 2 years, but they won't do it if the program hasn't proven itself to be in that position.

Even if the expectations are high for Kiffin & CO the season just started. Sitting the bench in the beginning to wear a ring in the end holds a lot of recruiting power, but not with a school that is climbing its way back in.

Once your a great program and dominating kids will come to the school just because of the name. We won't get every star recruit but we'll get a lot of them in the future.

Of course you have to prove it on the field. Im sure alot of coaches tell kids that they will be given the oppurtunity to play early, but nobody has backed that up more then UT. We had 11 Freshman play for us this weekend, and three of them were in some sort of starting role. Kiffin has made it known that the best players will play. Our starting Center was a walk on and beat out Mel Kipers potential #2 center in Josh McNeil. McNeil did get hurt, but many believe that Sullins would have won the job. As far as getting back into the NC hunt, it shouldnt take long. We were playing in the SEC championship two years ago against the eventual NC in LSU. We have great players here, and I expect to have a great season. Next year is more realistic, but don't sleep on the vols this year.
