This guy could be really, really good in the next three years and for the same reasons another under the radar prospect in this class Andrew Hendrix is good-- he's got good size and the frame to develop, a rocket for an arm and a terrific delivery. In our opinion Smith is going to be a guy we will be seeing a lot of in the future. He is tall and lanky with the frame to add significant bulk and strength. Has very good feet and is a deceptively good athlete. We are a little weary of how he carries the ball and props it a bit awkwardly just prior to releasing it, but we in no way have any concerns about how the ball comes out. He possesses a lightning quick, compact delivery and the ball pops out of his hand. At times on tape you cannot even see the ball come out and the next thing you know he's sticking it on the target. He is one of the few guys we have seen in this class that can stick the comeback, skinny post, seam route and drive the ball vertically with ease, power and outstanding velocity. As a result, we do worry some about his ability to change ball speeds and ease up on some throws that require some touch. He shows very good drop speed, balance and set up from under center. Is a quality ball handler capable of freezing linebackers and drilling the ball into tight spots between second level coverage. Throws very well on the move rolling out or when evading the rush and possesses the arm strength to make difficult throws across his body and off balance. Overall accuracy is strong when set and he has shown the ability to make throws accurately with people in his face. Shows toughness and grit. Has the feet and athleticism to elude the rush and even surprise you with his change-of-direction for a taller player. Has very good speed for a pocket prospect. In our opinion, Smith is the very definition of upside. He may be a bit of a late bloomer which is good for his development physically. Tools and measurables are present and he can certainly make every throw necessary.
