Junior DL Corey Miller (6-5 228) of Byrnes has several early offers. Miller has offers from Clemson, USC, FSU, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee, California, Maryland, and Texas A&M. Miller went to FSU's junior day with teammate Brandon Willis and had a good time. "I've already been there," he said. "I went down for a game last year and the gameday atmosphere is where it's at. They're going to make some waves this year." He also likes the weather. "They told me it's pretty much like that year round," said Miller. Miller will also go to Clemson on February 21st for their junior day. He had 127 tackles, 8 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, two forces fumbles, and a fumble recovery as a junior. Miller says he is a better pass rusher and needs to work on his run stopping ability. He has no favorites.

In a new article by Austin Price, the Byrnes High standout had very positive things to say about the new staff and the direction of the program.

He expects to graduate early so expect a decision during or just after the season.

His teammate, 5* running back Marcus Lattimore, also had very encouraging things to say about Tennessee which has added to his interest to see Knoxville again soon.

"Marcus had nothing but great things to say," Miller said. "Lane Kiffin is doing some big things up there and it makes me want to get up there and see what's going on. The coaching staff is awesome and they know what they are doing and I definitely want to get back up there soon."

Florida State, California, Southern Cal, Oregon, North Carolina and Tennessee are his top schools at the moment.

"I'm not going to stay in state," Miller said. "(South Carolina and Clemson) both have great teams and facilities, but I want a little bit something different. I want to leave and experience something different."

Corey Miller and perhaps some of his Byrnes teammates should be in town tomorrow. (Scout article from 3/30)

Article from the 26th says that he definitely wants to play out of state. Two of his official visits almost for sure will be Oregon and Cal. After that he's not sure. Made a 21 on the ACT, and a 1350 on the SAT. Wants to have a decision early next fall or by the middle of his senior year. As far as what it's going to take to get his signature, "Academics are first of course, then football. I don't know what I want to study but maybe sports management. Besides those things I'm going to consider the staff, the depth chart, who will be in front of me, and the surroundings and atmosphere around the place."

Not much video of him, but in the short one that I saw, he appears to have a motor and really gets off the ball real well.

Sweet. Looks like he has the size and speed perfect for a Ed Orgeron D-line

Good to hear that he will be back. Sounds like you can make a championship team with just Byrnes kids.

"I was thinking about narrowing it down by the end of this month, sometime soon just to get a decent set of schools," Miller said. "I'm going to look at the academics at certain schools, how I get along with the coaches and the area around the place.

"If I see something, it's not much of a capricious thing, but if this pops to me, it's a great place to me. Things like a great atmosphere, I love where they're at, they love the things they're doing - things with a positive upside."

"Since the last time I visited, Lane Kiffin came in and brought a whole new staff and those coaches are fired up," Miller said. "Everything is excited. From watching film, to meetings, to practice, it stays hyped over there. It seems they're really excited about getting it going. They're constantly getting after it. That's a plus for them."

UNC visits were good, things went on a positive note coaches are good. Tenn. was a good visit also. Coaches and players are excited about the game itself and getting after it.

Just talked to him and that is what he had to say about his past two visits.
