Rivals has only us listed as "High" interest for this guy. I hope that's true, and we get him. We do already have a SG committed, but I'll take any 4* recruit out of Memphis that we can get. Go Bruce!

However; I expect him to be a Tiger, Rivals has his UT interest high and Memphis int medium with everyone elses, who knows? That would be a pg, 2 sg, now we need Harris and Cothran, and Pinkston, and when is allan Houston goin to have a baby boy, lol.

I don't see him going to UM, seriously, they have that Barton kid, a 5* sg.... sure Tennessee has Jordan but tennessee is in serious need of a SG....

Now I wouldn't count out Miss St. they are the wild card... they need a SG more than UM or UT.... Don't be surprised if they land him.

Gary Parrish said on his radio show that Chris will announce Memphis tomorrow. He said it would have been UT two weeks ago but things have "shifted" since then. Take it FWIW.

Well by the look at Negedu's situation, it appears that Crawford choosing Memphis would be a blessing to us. We will desperately need to recruit kids to play the 4 and 5. We will need to sign at least 3 with only Hall and Williams back next year.

He would be another nice pick up for Coach Paz if he does, which I think he will pick Memphis...

I've heard the announcement is today at 6 PM Eastern.

As everyone is probably aware, it appears UT has lost this battle.

Just heard them talking about it on the Parrish show again today. All Memphis.

Slime ball AAU coach Easterwood called in (typical) and threw multiple subtle jabs at UT, including one at Orgeron..wtf? This clown claims to be pals with Pearl, but this is like the third time I have heard him bash UT. Basically said that the kid was all but signed to TN and Pastner flipped him in the last week or so.

At one point, I felt like he almost put his foot in his mouth on some shady stuff that Memphis has done....

Pearl is getting just what he deserves for associating with Easterwood. Then again, birds of a feather...

Hat, I know that you are big into basketball and have AAU connections. Curious as to what you hear from others about Easterwood?

He routinely calls into Memphis Sports Talk Radio stations. I don't listen more than probably 2 days a week, but it seems like every time I do, this guy is calling in to tout someone or something (usually his players and more recently Pastner and Memphis). The times I have heard him he always talks about all the slime ball AAU coaches while making himself appear to like he does nothing shady (despite the fact that he comes off shady).

Just curious, bc I work around the Memphis HS Athletics scene, and most of the coaches around here do not seem to care for him all that much.

Keith is far from the worst guy in AAU hoops. I've never heard of him pimping a kid or trying to leverage a kid into a spot on a staff for himself. That said, he has one main agenda. That's promoting himself and giving the aura that he's the big dog on the Memphis basketball scene. That's why he wasn't a big fan of Cal's. John neither needed or wanted to kiss Easterwood's ring. If a coach chooses to associate with him, that's their call. I'm just saying that they should know who they are dealing with.

Pearl must have a really close relationship with a guy that bashes UT and promotes Memphis. Makes perfect sense to me.

Nice. This year will be different with the attrition of players leaving early and losing an ENTIRE recruiting class. No one with a brain in their head is expecting huge things THIS year from the Tigers.

Impressive that a "kid" 5 months on the job can land the #1 Recruiting Class for 2010-2011. If I have to choose talent over coaching, I'll take my chances with talent.
There has never been a team that has won a NC that didn't have great talent.
