Shonte Sims - Football Recruiting

As the Parisian on this board, I thought I'd make a thread for this kid. He's getting a lot of attention from Tennessee, Alabama, and Clemson so far. He's started since his freshman year, and was an all state pick for 4A this past year. Next year he'll step into Marsalis Teague's shoes and play quarterback, but projects to be a safety or WR in college. Not much at all about him on Rivals yet, but he'll be a familiar name as summer rolls around. 2-sport athlete, is getting a lot of basketball attention from midmajors across the south, too. Just thought I'd make a thread for him since we're starting to get our influx of '10 threads right now.

top 40 kid in the state IMO...solid player...who I think gets better at the next level...will be interesting to see what kind of year he has...now that he will emerge out of the Teague and Allen shadow...

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what kind of offers he'll pick up. Word around these parts is that Alabama's in his ear hard. He had a great Jr. year, though. I'm trying to find official stats, but off the top of my head he was one of the top 3 tacklers and had 5 or 6 picks, 2 which I remember being ran back for touchdowns. McFerren should also come out of the shadows, too. Mizzou is showing him a lot of interest. Although it might not be Teague and Allen, Henry County will have two more D1 players next year in Sims and McFerren.

To go along with those stats injured a few players with big hits. And as a sophomore the greatest play ever by a henry county player. I hope tennessee brings him in. It would be great seein him and marsalis on the same team again.

I have never posted on here before, but this kid will be special. He may not have the vision that Teague has, but he has great speed and a knack for getting the ball. I've seen him take a handoff in the backfield, and he was on defense! Orangeblood will know what I'm talking about, it was during the state playoffs!

Just thought that I'd bring this thread up for people to keep an eye on.

Shonte was 4-8 with a TD and a pick Friday night against Liberty in a 20-18 win. He also ran for around 130 yards. Also had 9 tackles and an interception.

Keep an eye on this young man - he projects very well in the future years and I believe that we could see his recruitment blow up as the season progresses.

If he doesnt pick up anymore D1a offers, at least offer the kid a preferred walk-on spot.

Your gonna see alot of talent come out of Henry County. We have some amazing athletics here. If i was you I would try to het Shonte Sims. I go to school with him. He is a great leader and a great role model. It would also be nice to see him and Marsalis play again.
