Jatashun Beachum - anyone see this guy? Rivals has him listed as an athlete. He is 6'2", 275 and runs like a deer. He has rushing, passing, and defensive stats. It does not list us as being on him, but think of the possibilities.

I have no clue what all of these schools are recruiting him as but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum. A lot of the highlights aren't great, but just like the athleticism this guy has. I could see him as an animal on the line if he has a decent first step.

Lorenzen!!!!!!!

Sorry could help myself. Impressive for a guy that size.

Let's see him do that time again w/ a college timing him rather than his high school though...

Being recruited to Georgetown as a point guard as well.:wink2:

Seriously though... if Beachum thinks he's going to get a shot at playing QB or RB at Florida for CUM he's delirious.

According to this article (dated 6/18) Big Tex says that he has an offer from UT already. Wants to be an RB or QB. It has a Duck spin to the article.

I have offers from over 15 schools right now, most recently Arizona, UTEP, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Tulsa have all just offered me. I have offers for all different positions from tight end, defensive tackle, running back, quarterback, linebacker, and defensive end. I really want to play running back or quarterback, those are my favorite two positions," said Beachum.

Jatashun was able to identify who his favorite 5 teams are currently. “Florida, Oregon, Kansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are probably my five favorite schools right now. Oregon and Florida are my top two right now though."

Two stand out for Jatashun Beachum

6-2, 275 lbs and runs a 4.6 forty. That's sick. Seriously, that's just not normal.

Off topic slightly, but at some point, the wool is going to be pulled from our eyes and we will find out that a bunch of these football players from the pros to the prep ranks are on the juice.

So Jared Lorenzen on nitrous?

Due to Lorenzen's considerable girth, he has been given a collection of nicknames, which include: "Quarter(got)back",[3] "Hefty Lefty",[4] "The Pillsbury Throwboy",[5] "The Abominable Throwman", [6] "J.Load",[7] "Round Mound of Touchdown", "Tubby Gunslinger" [8][7]"BBQ (Big Beautiful Quarterback)"[9] "Battleship Lorenzen",[10] "Butterball",[11], "Lord Of The Ring-Dings"[12], and "He Ate Me".[13]

Committed: Uncommitted - Favors Utah and Tennessee

Tennessee- “They show me lots of love. My mom loves them too because they send us letters a lot in the mail. I have always been a UT fan."

However, with all of his talent and upside, Beachum can be lazy. His weight is not good weight and he is out of shape. He got a reality check when a coach from one of the schools that offered him commented negatively about his size. However, Beachum remains even because his size and athleticism is so rare. At almost 300 pounds, out of shape and all, Beachum clocked a 4.75 forty and in his first game he threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The bottom line is, if he works hard and loses that bad weight, the sky is the limit for Big Tex. It is for these reasons Beachum's stock remains the same.

Per Scout... Looks like we are in the top 2 for this guy. He is a 4star on Scout and seems to have a TON of potential. This is a kid that Orgeron could turn into a beast...

This kid needs to red-shirt, to lose weight before anything.

Very rare talent though, never seen a kid who plays QB and DT, and runs 4.6.

What on earth do they plan to do with him? have they said?

He projects as a DT. He has the quickness and burst that Orgeron loves in a DT. I think O could get him motivated and stay on him all day. He could be special down the road...

Does he have the frame to carry enough good weight to play DT? If he really does have a lot of bad weight, he could end up a completely different body type if he commits to a S&C program. I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't go after him because it sounds like he has tons of upside, but it wouldn't surprise me if predicting his size and weight is kind of a crapshoot.

yea, he can hold the weight. It's just that it's bad weight right now. Get him in a weight room and give some motivation, and he could turn all that into good weight. He is lazy and he had a broken ankle last year. Combined, those 2 things caused him to gain around 30 pounds, but he's still running in the 4.6s or 4.7s. The laziness can be corrected. The same thing was said about Cortez Kennedy until Orgeron got ahold of him at Miami. Cortez left Miami as the #3 overall pick in the NFL draft...
