Pizzurro is a prep school player, so he will have 5 years to play 4 once he enrolls, as he hasn't exhausted any of his college eligibility. He has not received a formal offer from Tennessee, but they have made some contact.

He played at St. Thomas Aquinas in 2008 and seems to have had a solid GPA. I think he went the prep route in order to improve his scholarship opportunities. Only Army and Air Force offered him in the 2009 cycle.

He attended Iona Prep in New Rochelle, N.Y. before enrolling at STA.

10/7 Rivals update---

A lot of other schools are interested. Virginia Tech called, Tennessee has shown interest and lots of others.

since enrolling at prep school, he feels he has improved significantly---

I think I've gotten more muscular and my technique is better. I'm quicker on my feet too.

Rivals

This evaluation was most likely penned in 2008 by Scouts Inc. at ESPNU---

Pizzuro is solid offensive tackle that could play guard or center. He's a little short at just over 6 foot two but he carries his weight well for two hundred and eighty five pounds. A good technician that comes off the ball with good footwork and is physical. Needs to play a little lower which should not be a problem for his height. Has good leg drive and scratches and claws for every inch of movement. Rolls his hips on contact and gets good knock back. Excellent double team and combination blocker. Gets shoulder to shoulder and hip to hip with teammate to combo defensive linemen off the ball. Decent runner that can pull and turn upfield but not quite as consistent when pulling as base blocking; limited mobility. Pass protection is solid. Hits and gathers on short pass pro with a tendency to like to cut at the line of scrimmage. Will have to work at deep set; short arms will be an issue at the next level. Gets to the perimeter on screen pass but lumbers a little bit in the openfield. Pizzuro is a real workhorse on the field and is a reliable blocker especially in the running game. His height is will limit him to the guard or center position but he will be a very good player.

Maybe we can ask this guy to be a preferred walk-on for 2010.

He's from NY and the family relocated to FL seemingly for athletic reasons. I don't see him paying out of state tuition when he can go to 3-4 other schools on scholarship. The coaches will probably go on the road to scout/visit Hargrave somtime this year and that would be the time to expect a final verdict.

I have no inside track on whether or not he'll be offered. I was just putting another name out there as someone to watch on the interior part of the line. As a prep athlete who played in Florida, he is definitely better prepared for SEC competition than guys playing high school ball this year.

Moses is at Fork Union, not Hargrave. A ton of D-1 talent is at Hargrave. Ego Ferguson resides there...

Just go to Rivals and look at their Top 50 Prep players. That will give you a good idea of what kind of talent is at Hargrave...
