105.5 is simply ridiculous

Can't imagine trying to hit that. It must look like a BB coming at you.
I remember back in the day smashing 85 mph fastballs. The coach increased the machine to 90 mph. I could only connect on about 1 out of 8. He increased it to 95. I couldn’t hardly see it much less put the bat on it. Now 105.5? You’re right, it must look like a bb.

Yeah. Back in the mid to late 90's, we were basing everything on that number - 90. How many MPH was the pitcher throwing above or below 90. Now that number is 100. We only had a couple of guys touching 90. Of course Helton did it consistently. R.A. was about at 91-93. Luke Hudson and and Mike Cosgrove were in the 90-92 range.

Another rousing success story from the Frank Anderson arm barn. Dollander has been elite in AA and will be starting for the Rockies next year. Not sure why any pitcher wouldn’t want to come here.
Not sure I agree with that, Joyce was throwing 100+ at Walters State. That's like saying "from the Sean Robinson arm barn". I also remember CTV saying in an interview he didn't know what to do with Joyce. Imagine if he did...could have one more ring in that class of 2022.

I’m not saying Frank Anderson made him throw 100+. But Frank definitely improved his draft stock. Relievers are rarely picked as high as Joyce was. He definitely helped him gain some control of his pitches. Obviously the Angels have helped him develop an extra pitch which has helped, but Frank was a huge part of his success.

I would use Seth H and Garrett as the biggest guys to point to. But you're right, with Dolly up in the show next year and I could see Combs making his way up fairly soon as well.

In the off season, especially MLB, I just read headlines mostly, but always happy to read about former Vols being successful. I would think having former Vols living their dream in any sport would be a help in recruiting. Happy for Joyce, incredible!

GBO!!!
