For those in Nashville, 106.7 The Fan is no more. They switched formats...again...to i106 FM. It's now a Top 40 Station to compete with 107.5 The River and 102.5 The Party.

Anyway, I knew things weren't great when the Tom Abraham Show was dropped back in the spring, and they were exclusively ESPN Radio programming. Though honestly I was enjoying that more than when they tried local stuff.

That effectively ends any major competition on the FM side with 104.5 The Zone and pretty much leaves 560 AM as the only other sports network in Nashville. Not to mention it's funny how many formats the 106.7 frequency has had in the past 10 years. In 1998 it started with Adult Contemporary, then went to Alternative Rock as The Rooster in 1999, then in 2001 went to R&B then a year later to full urban/rap as Blazin' 106.7. Then in 2004 went to sports and now is Top 40. Personally I liked it when it was The Rooster as they played a lot of great rock.
