Is this someone to keep an eye on or have we offerd him? Rivals says he has no offers but he is a pretty good sized fellow.

Jakari has High interest in Tennessee and currently holds offers from Memphis, Jacksonville State, and Kentucky.

I don't think we'll offer but if he's still available on NSD and we miss on a couple guys that we're high on... ya never know. It's nice to have backup plans but not sure this guy wants to be a backup plan.

Kinnie was at camp yesterday according to Bryant.

his biggest offers are Kentucky, Maryland, and Memphis.

“I just love Tennessee,” Kinnie said. “I had a great time camping there. I love everything about the Vols.”

“I think I have a verbal offer from them but I’m not sure,” Kinnie explained. “I’m hoping for an official offer. If it comes, I might commit on the spot.”

His offer list doesn't look top shelf. Scout has an article posted that looks like he is attending camps to try and boost his opportunities, but I can't read it (no subscr.). Anyone got inside info on this kid? How good is he?

Meaningful offers are from UK and Memphis, and a 2* on scout. That does some of the explaining on his ability that has been evaluated so far.

This seems to becoming a common thing with the prospects this coaching staff is targeting. A good percentage of the players we are targeting are "under the radar" guys that they feel they can coach up. This is not the case with all of the players we are targeting, obviously, but it is the case with alot of them. I just hope they work out.

Has this guy played any guard on the OL? I can't see him being a take at the DL right now. Is he even really that good? Stats haven't blown me away.

Well, he wears glasses. So, he must be smart. I guess the recruiting services missed that attribute.

LV?? JHOP??

I know little to nothing about Kinnie. He is big (that is uncontested), could probably end up big enough to be a good NT in the 3/4 if he has some talent. They say he can move well -- that is the part that is in doubt. Can he run the 40 in less than 2 days?? It says he made 88 tackles in 2009 -- not terrible for an DT. He is a 2* on Scout, but unranked on Rivals (I have no idea about ESPN) -- so what kind of competition does his team play against in Gadsden??

We would not be recruiting him for the O line, for sure. But is he a take at the moment on the D line?? We have a serious need there, but I have been hoping that we can get both AR and Clear to commit and end up using both as DT's.

Kinnie sounds like he would be an automatic commitment if we offered -- but is he any better than Cody Robinson at DT?? Hopefully, we have not reached the panic level on DT just yet -- still a ways until NSD.

Lots of questions but few answers about this kid.

We appear to be out of it with Gabe -- I thought we were at or near the top of his list, but he seems to have fallen in love with Auburn (I still think we have a shot at him if we can get him back here for a visit). We have heard nothing out of Gosha or Bell lately, nor the others. We appear to be sitting well with Mickey Johnson, but I still worry about his ability to get in/stay in school.

Couch will be a tough pull from Kansas, especially since to come here he will need to take the additional math course demanded by the SEC. That academic course is a concern about any good DT we recruit at the JUCO level. There is a reason they had to go the JUCO route, and it was not because they love to study so much.

Does anyone know if Pauley Asiata plays DT in addition to OT?? If so, is he good at it??

Just some questions about a position of need.
