Hoover's Carter wins QB challenge

Hoover High's Ryan Carter was the winner of the quarterback challenge coordinated by Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

Score was kept throughout the three-hour challenge and Carter clinched first place by throwing a football in a barrel from 40 yards away. Calera's Brandon Wells and Chandler Rogers of Brookhaven (Miss.) Academy tied for second place.

Carter, Wells and Rogers are each waiting for their first scholarship offer. Carter said he's had conversations with coaches from Tennessee, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee but has yet to receive an offer.

Conversations are a long way away from being offers, but I saw this in the article TideWarrior posted about Pat Milliner and decided to post this should our QB recruiting start to drift away from Worley and Brissett.
