I love the pairing of Tom Smith (Apopka, Fla./Apopka) with Tennessee. He is a natural power runner with some receiving skills and he's the type of running back that can wear down a defense as he gets stronger in the late stages of the game.

We have Tom Smith as our power back, but we are also pursuing Jeremy Hill, which I find interesting, since he fits the same mold. We are also in great shape with the speed back, Romar Morris who is currently committed to UNC.

I'd like to see us take Morris and be done at RB for this class UNLESS we have a much bigger prospect on board, which I just think will be unlikely.

Currently, we have two things:

1) Tom Smith, a fine "every down" type running back.

2) A very real numbers crunch for this class.

So the answer to your question is obvious. Hill is just a duplication of Smith -- perhaps a little better, but not a lot. We cannot afford the luxury of signing two backs that are so similar.

On the other hand, Morris is the speed back type that Dooley is looking for to round out this class. No question about it. If the choice is between Hill and Morris, we take Morris.

Forget all the different type RB nonsense, if you can take Hill you don't pass on him. I like Morris but you take the better player and Hill is the better all around RB.
