Before his season begins Garrett plans on naming his future college from a group that consists of "pretty much Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, and Kentucky," elaborating that "those are all the schools that mainly show me more attention."

Garrett is an athlete. He has played safety and linebacker in high school and will likely be an outside backer in college. He is a big hitter number one. He plays at a high speed and delivers a lot of pop when he makes tackles. He can really improve his tackling technique because he relies more on knocking his opponent down instead of wrapping them up. He also is a little thin, so he'll need to add weight in the future.
