Rising junior Tony Daniel of South Paulding High is another young quarterback hoping to introduce his name to college recruiters.

His showing in Friday's Elite 11 certainly won't hurt.

Daniel (6-5, 185) made the final group by consistently hitting his targets throughout the nearly three-hour camp.

"My accuracy was really on today," said Daniel, whose favorite school is Tennessee. "I've still got some work to do on my drops and my footwork can be better. But that's the reason I like coming to camps like this. I was able to get a bunch of good tips."

From Rivals... I can't find much info about this guy. He has very good size and his favorite school is Tennessee. According to MaxPreps, he only threw 7 passes last year as the #2 QB on his high school team...

Even though he didn't get to play much last year, he must be purty talented. This story on him was from the Nike Elite 11 combine that was just held Friday at UGA. Other QB's who were at the event were Blake Bell, Blake Sims, Barry Brunetti, and Hutson Mason...

According to UGAs Rivals site, Brunetti really raised his stock at the combine. Everett Golson, Connor Shaw, and Coty Blanchard also looked very good. But they say that big names such as Blake Bell, Munchie Legaux, and Nash Nance really struggled...

Not really surprised about Shaw. That kid is gonna be a beast. Bell isn't too surprising either, because even though he has the highest ceiling probably, he's so raw.

South Paulding quarterback Tony Daniel will attend Tennessee’s one-day camp today, according to coach Tim Glanton. The Vols watched him closely during South Paulding’s spring practice.

Daniel is 6 feet 5, 200 pounds and has previously stated that Tennessee is his favorite.

Because it doesn't sound like he is worth a scholarship and he is a Tennessee fan. Why not add depth if it's free and the kid is a fan? Like someone pointed out, he was as at camps with some big time quarterbacks. It's not like I want the team to just let any kid walk on because they want to. This kid just sounds like he'd be worth giving a shot to walk on.

He is a 2011 prospect so he has time to improve his skills and make some good impressions on some of the schools he would like to go to. So, it's a little early to talk about walking on to a team just yet.

You sir are correct. I just assumed he was 2010. That would be my bad.

He was on campus this weekend--on the sideline with a few other recruits. Let's hope the Vols have a bead on a diamond in the rough.

I've seen this kid throw in person and he has great mechanics and puts up a beautiful ball. Very sweeeeet! He was at Junior Day too. He is certainly one to keep an eye on. His film is too grainy and replays each play too many times - very tedious to watch. Solid prospect in mho.
