Daniels is the son of Washington Redskins veteran defensive linemen Phillip Daniels
"I really don't have any real favorites at this point of my recruiting. I'm just going to see how everything shakes out for awhile and then look forward from there. My Dad went to Georgia and all of that but for him Georgia was the best fit for him. My Dad is going to let me make my own decision when it comes to picking a school. I'm definitely going to listen to him about the process and I know he'll do everything he can to help me. When it comes down to it he said it's my final decision to make so I'm going to really look hard at all of my options before I decide on anything."

A couple of dynamic wideouts on that Vernon Hills team with him and Evan Spencer. I imagine UGA will come for Davarris pretty hard and ND will be a big factor to the end for both imo. Both are good kids from good families though as Spencer is ex-Bears RB coach Tim Spencer's kid.

lots of talent in illinois this year. one of my childhood friends is now the head coach at hersey high school. if there are any players we could be on i will be in his ear. daniels looks good but i really think rieley o'toole QB could end up being the best player in the state this year.

we got lots of big hoss's in the state once again this year, hopefully ut can keep their presence strong in the state again this year. I'm a morris high school guy so I try to keep my ear to the ground in the joliet area, which typically produces the states best teams.

I heard that after some recent events he is now the #1 ranked WR in the nation. I've seen this kid play a few times and I think he would fit in well at UT. Thing is, will UT pursue him with all the WR's they brought in this year???

He looks pretty good hes not a need for this class. I dont think he is very high on our board right now. We need lineman not WRs

That attitude is part of what has gotten UT in this mess. You go after playmakers every year reguardless of the roster. Just my :twocents:

you have to recruit some at every position to fill in for players declaring early or transferring. we definitely will take at least one maybe two wideouts in this class.

I was wondering what they are thinking in terms of bringing in WR's for next year. Normally UT does not roam into Illinois, but this they plucked a couple good ones this year. I actually spoke with some staff at UT a few years back about some players I had dealings with from Illinois. One just got drafted to the NFL, and the other was a starter at Purdue. UT never even reached out to those kids, and it seemed like fulmer and staff wanted no parts of a couple Illinois boys. I hope Dooley ignores regions and goes after good players. Daniels obviously is a kid who will look to go to the SEC and not just stay at home in the midwest. UT needs to make guys like this a priority, and not half hearted recruit him.

His name sound like he would play for Miami just my opinion though.

Really? I think our roster/recruiting problems have obviously been on the lines.

espnu 150 watch lister davaris daniels names four favorites

top wide receiver davaris daniels (vernon hills, ill.) revealed four leaders for espn affiliate web site insidetheu.com.

"for right now, i'd say my top schools are notre dame, oklahoma, i'm really interested in miami, and michigan state too," he said.

Other programs including illinois, michigan, wisconsin, nebraska, purdue, iowa, memphis, arkansas, louisville and cincinnati have also offered.

"this summer i'm not doing much, i might visit a couple schools but i don't know which ones yet," daniels said. "i wanted to make a decision before the season started but that might change until a little bit into the season or even the very end. I wanted to get it over with at first but lately it's been kind of heated between a few schools. Back then, it was just notre dame at the top but now i got a few more."

daniels accounted for 888 total yards last season (221 receiving, 344 rushing and 323 passing).
