Kid is a three star defensive end from Chicago Curie. His brother Victor is in the NFL and he just got a Vol offer and seems quite interested. Physical freak show, quite raw tho.

Defensive end James Adeyanju is getting more popular by the minute, it seems. From single-digit offers not too long ago, he’s now holding over 20. Nebraska seems to be still looking for some linemen on the defensive side. So, how are they sitting with one of the rising defensive ends in the Midwest?

Chicago (Ill.) Curie senior three star ranked defensive end prospect James Adeyanju (6-foot-2, 250 pounds) was hoping that his recruiting process and his college options would get easier to narrow down, hut now that one SEC conference power has suddenly offered Adeyanju on Tuesday his recruiting process seems to be getting harder and harder. Get the latest breaking recruiting details on Big Game James here.

He's pretty dang fast off the line. Obviously looks raw too. Looks like another guy that could fit the 3-4 scheme, looks like he could play some LB for us. He isn't that tall, and his measurements fit the role.

ummm check out the prospects from chicago.... only 2 3 stars.... and then a nubch of non ranked... you would think there would be boatloads of talent coming out of chi town.....

I always saw Chicago as being dominated by basketball and soccer actually. Probably hockey as well.

"I had a chance to talk with the defensive line coach Chuck Smith for quite a long time on the phone and he had some really good things to say about me and my game. He feels that I would be a good fit on the Tennessee defensive line and that he likes how I can get after the quarterback. The offer just sort of came out of nowhere to be honest. Up until a day ago I really hadn't talked too much with Tennessee. I've never been to the school but I've heard a ton of great things about Tennessee and the SEC."

"I really had hoped that I would have things narrowed down pretty well by now but then all of a sudden a great school like a Tennessee comes in and offers you and then I need to re-evaluate everything. Don't get me wrong. I'm very grateful for all of the offers and the opportunities I have but it just makes narrowing down my list of schools that much harder. I have official visits set already to Wisconsin (9/17) and Nebraska (10/15) and it seems like everyone wants me to make an official visit now. I wish I could take ten visits instead of just five to be honest."

Offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, BC, Stanford, Vandy, among others (15+ offers total).

Again, think he could fit the 3-4 scheme as a LB. I know I have been critical of the people that consistently pose crap about our recruiting process, but IMO, it looks like CCS has come across another guy that we could see have a ranking/star boost after the season.

Many prospects in the midwest in general get downgraded for some unknown reason. If the kid is a 3 star from IL that about equal to a 4 star from the south or west coast. I've worked with several major college talents in IL and only three had a 3 star ranking, the others were all 2 star or less. Two of these guys are in the NFL and a third will likely be after next season. The others all started at the major college level. Bottom line is that prospects in the midwest are devalued.

Just watched his AMP video on Rivals. I'm no expert but he looks like he could be a future DT IMO

His "star" ranking could go up also.....they haven't played their senior seasons yet

nah all the inner city kids with elite athletic ability play basketball... chicago always has and always will be one of the top 2 cities for producing basketball talent and will never be a top city for football talent... just the way it is

He sounds well spoken. I imagine grades would not be an issue either.

Reality is that there are a ton of athletes in the chi, but there is a serious lack coaching and they have a serious lack of discipline. I'm from the burbs and when I was in high school we played a CPL team in the playoffs that had 4 D-1 players on there team and we absolutely pasted them. The best of the best play basketball. The real talented football players in IL come from the suburbs, we are pumpin out a TON of lineman this year.

WCV, have you seen him play?

Not in person but if they can find there way into the playoffs this year I may go up and check him out. I saw Vic at a camp once tho, if he is anything like his brother he will be a monster.
