Looked around and did not see a thread on this kid...

Qyendarius Griffin
'11 MS RB/LB
South Panola

Qyendarius Griffin - Yahoo! Sports

Do not understand how this kid has virtually no press. Maybe his grades are just that bad or something. I saw this kid play earlier this year and he was a monster. After all, SP is one of the top ranked teams in the country.

In 8 games, he has 151 carries for 1520 yards (10ypc) and 22 TD's. 3 games over 200 yds and 1 over 300 yds. South Panola has played some decent teams in that stretch.

I won't even ask how in the world to pronounce a name like Qyendarius, but his mother's got some 'splaining to do.

Got named to Rivals' High School All-American team. This was his first year at running back and he rushed for over 2,600 yards and apparently only played in the first half of several games. I don't understand why this kid is not getting offered by anyone.

I believe Mississippi and Arkansas are the only ones keeping my state, Alabama, from being dead last.

I am relatively sure they do not use the letter g in Mississippi. I think you mean 'splainin.

It is really really sad in some parts. A lot really talented players come from the MS Delta over to Panola (just outside that area). Most of the schools there would make you shudder at how bad they are.

Kids, athletes and non-athletes, get passed along all the time despite not being able to read, write, or comprehend some basic information. There was a SP player last year, a good D1 prospect, that scored under 15 on the ACT. The schools are dilapidated and lack basic things such as hot water in a lot of locations. Football teams often toe the legality line with some of the equipment they use because of how old and beat up it is. Heck, if you visited most of these schools, you would wonder if segregation still existed. Most of the white kids go to Academies. There are not affluent private schools, but offer an alternative to the public schools for a several grand a year.

South Panola is in a little better situation than some of the ones I described. They get a lot of community support as well which helps with football.

Something has to be seriously wrong with Griffin to have 0 offers. You would think there would be some schools who would take a chance of offering and placing him in a JUCO or PREP school. Kid is too damn good to have no offers.
