In Boone, the 6-0, 197-pound Overton ran a 4.52 40-yard dash and a 4.36 pro shuttle, completed 14 repetitions of 185 pounds on the bench, and added a 27.9 inch vertical jump.

Overton's recruitment is starting to kick into a little bit higher gear, as he indicated several schools that are currently showing interest, including UNC, East Carolina, South Carolina, South Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, and Duke.

South Carolina, Duke, South Florida, and East Carolina are among the schools that have offered Overton, while schools like Arkansas, North Carolina, and Alabama are still evaluating him.

In looking at schools, Overton says that early playing time and the right academic fit are two of his top priorities.

I've read several articles on this kid, and he doesn't mention the Vols one time from what I read. Doesn't seem like we are high on his list right now.

14 reps of 185lbs? That does not sound like a linebacker who is very physically developed or strong; in addition, he is only 197lbs. However, there must be something that these coaches see in order to have that impressive of an offer list.

185 isn't to light. I wouldn't worry about his strength.
