'11 OH TE Nick Vannett

"I'm down to a top seven now," Vannett said. "I will be taking a few visits to Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Penn State within the next couple of weeks."

- Rivals

Vannett is a 4star and the #174 overall player.

He says his mind is made up and he just wants to take those visits to make sure. Looks like he's tOSU bound.

He will announce his decision at the end of this month so he may be here for the skills camp.

Good to hear, I hope it went well. I love this TE's size. I take it that OSU and UM are still his leaders (pre-visit that is)?

Hard to pull a kid from Ohio if he has an offer from OSU.

Hopefully after a few years Dooley will have other programs saying the same thing about kids from the state of Tennessee

"Oh man, the Vols offered. Game over. We better move on to our next target"

Didn't something like that happen in the Blind Side?

Kids been a Buckeye lock for a while, nothing has changed. In fact tOSU was starting to get pissed at him not making the jump and were starting to recruit other TE's, but he's about to jump on board.

Hubbs and Bryant both said last night that Vannett loved his visit and the Vols made a big impression. Said UT definitely gave him something to think about.

Definitely good to hear... We may not get all of the top players on our board but just knowing the coaching staff can make these guys think hard on their way home means alot IMO.

Woww LV that is great news. He's been a tOSU lock for awhile now. More than likely will end up a Buckeye but the fact that he came to an SEC school, loved the visit, had to love how he heard the TEs are used here and came away as impressed as he did is a good start. Sounds like we made quite an impression. Still think Clear should be our guy but would really love to get this kid.

This is JMO but TE is such a huge need, there is no way they would turn down a guy like Vannett just to wait on Clear. Way too risky considering the enormous need at the position.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. The visit did go very good though.

Yeah, he would be a tough pull. Although, us being the only SEC school to offer him could work in our favor. All these kids have to respect the SEC. Might help, but more than likely he will stay at home.

The word up here is that he's a definite lock to stay home. Everyone else is just battling to finish the bridesmaid.
