I could definitely see him moving to LB at the college level due to his size, but nice find. Just my $.02, but may be a hard pull from the Chickens.

His dad is a season ticket holder and a former Gamecock who played in the NFL. There are rumours that the Dixon Bros., Byers and Clowney will all commit to USC because they are all best friends and grew up together and wear Gamecock gear. They also have several friends on the USC roster.

Not time to move on..... see Miller/Willis situation or the Lemonier/Smith situation to see that this is a long process, and weird things happen in recruiting.

Willis never had a commitable offer to South Carolina. Miller did but he and Willis made it known they were going out of state early on. Dixon's recruitment is not like their's at all. He is a big Gamecock fan.

They would have taken Willis in a milli-second.

Sounds like sour grapes to me, the cocks would have loved to have had Willis. That would have given you 3 Army All Americans. Wouldn't that have been a record for you guys? I guess at least ya got Vic "Bartenda" Hampton.

South Carolina got Quarles, Lattimore, and Hampton.

Oh i forgot about Quarles, who wanted to go to UT, but whose dad pushed him into being a cock. Still think we might have pulled him with the Ogre and Lame.

I lol'd hard at this. So Spurrier evaluated that 3star JT Surratt and 2star Byron Jerideau were better than the Army All-American, AP 1st team All-American, Rivals100 member Brandon Willis who had offers from every major college in the South? :eek:lol:

Oh, and don't forget that they signed his teammate as well. :good!:

Here's what Kelcy and his dad had to say. UT wouldn't let Kelcy say no.

“
No more mail. No more phone calls. No more changing my number,” Quarles said.

“It’s a blessing and an honor to be signing with South Carolina. I’m just glad it’s all over

Tennessee, previously led by always-controversial Lane Kiffin, didn’t take no for an answer.

“Golly man, the letters kept coming, the phone calls kept coming,” Buddy said. “Lane Kiffin, he, to tell you the truth, got on my nerves.”

Well you just made it pretty obvious who was gonna decide where Kelcy went to college.

Read it. Kelcy had to change his number. Kiffin wouldn't leave him alone. He never said he wanted to go to UT. Kelcy even had to make up an excuse one weekend not to go to Knoxville, but he showed up at a Clemson game instead. Also, UT sent LPE after him, but it didn't work. He was recruiting for the Gamecocks. He and Lattimore were trying to turn Miller.
