Offensive guard
Pawley's Island, South Carolina
Waccamaw
Ht:6'4"
Wt:310 lbs
Class:2011 (High School)
The last time Danny Pearman unearthed a massive lineman out of the Palmetto State was in the summer of 2006 when at UNC he found Neeses Hunter-Kinard-Tyler tackle William Brimfield.
Jerome Maybank was one of several impressive 2011 prospects at last month's Dabo Swinney Camp.
The extra work in the spring paid off again by stopping by Pawley's Island - Waccamaw. There he found Jerome Maybank who immediately opened eyes at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
"I'm just surprised they are looking at me and quite frankly that all of these Division 1 schools are," the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder admitted. "It's pretty good that they are looking at me"
As a sophomore, he played mostly offensive tackle, but most colleges view him on the other side of the ball.
"I guess they feel I can be a better player there," the underclassman noted.
Maybank bench presses 275 pounds, squats 375, runs a 5.4-second 40-yard dash and holds a 3.0 GPA.
"I think Clemson is the closest team to giving me my first offer," the 2011 prospect concluded. "Right now I like them, Tennessee and South Carolina."
