While most recruitnicks are still awaiting signing day, SCVarsity.com continues to scale the state for the top underclassmen players in the state. Two players who have turned the heads of everyone play for the Lake City Panthers and both of these young men turned in some outstanding performances at the recent Under Armour Underclassman Combine this past weekend.
Sheldon Robinson is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound cornerback that turned in an impressive 40 time of 4.38 seconds. His teammate, Shon Carson, is only a sophomore but was perhaps the most impressive running back in attendance. Measuring 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, Carson ran a 4.35 40-yard dash to wow all in attendance.
Carson, who has started in each of his first two seasons at Lake City in football, carried the ball 186 times for 1,636 yards this past season, scoring 19 touchdowns. He is also a major baseball prospect and has started varsity on the diamond since his seventh grade season.
Robinson was one of two Lake City defensive backs who attended the SCVarsity.com Elite Passing Camp last Spring and was outstanding as one of the top coverage corners in the camp.
