He is a really good athlete and knows the game really well. He is not done growing either. I was the quaterback for whitwell 2 years ago. He has a lot of potential but i don't think he is SEC talent but he is still improving and like i said the kid is still growing

I've never known Whitwell to produce D-1 talent, much less SEC talent. Our team always killed them...

I think with some camps and other work, he could have some good upside. Good arm I hear. His team is commited to the run. They have a new coach from Fla.

Maybe they can turn the corner down the road. They still have a long way to go to catch up to South Pittsburg though.

South Pitt is always tough! His Uncle is head Coach at So Pitt. Vic Grider is a very good coach. His Daddy is a legend at that school.

Whitwell hasn't played Boyd since 04 in the play-offs and there was a couple of kids from whitwell who started at Boyd.

I graduated in '06. My senior year was the first year Boyd stopped playing Whitwell after Boyd moved up to 2A.

Yeah, he has a lot of upside to him and they throw a little more this year than they have in the past. Until this year Whitwell used to always run the veer.

Do you two know David "Bopper" Coppinger? Played basketball for Boyd when they won the state?

South Pitt is always the best team in the Chattanooga area. Its hard to do be beat when your are 1a and have over 9 kids who run a 4.5 or better

I sure do. He was actually a substitute teacher for a couple of my classes. LOL

He would probably still recognize me if I bumped into him today.

They're definitely the best 1A team, but I don't think they're the best in the overall area. I don't think they would beat Ooltewah, Red Bank, or McCallie. Boyd is playing them for homecoming this year so I'll probably go see that game before coming back to Knoxville for the UT-UGA game.

Marion and So. Pitt will give Boyd a tough time!

Both should be great games. I think Boyd plays them back-to-back with an off week in between. But we get both of them at home, so we'll see how it goes.

Sorry about that i meant to put best 1a team. But they would give a lot of bigger schools a run for their money. Marion C. and South Pitt are both a lot weaker than they were last year. South Pitt is still a really good team but from what i have seen and heard Marion is nearly as good as they are hipped up to be this year.
