Reminds me of Tyler Bray :) . But he looks very athletic to be 6'7''. Nice touch on the fade passes. Are those his high school tapes?

Seems that he has a very good touch on the ball. Foot work as always with a young kid needs tweaking. Very good looking prospect.

Looks great from an accuracy standpoint in that video. He does have a little bit of a funny release that seems like he is "pushing" the ball more than throwing it. Anybody else notice that? I'll bet if he really cocked that arm back the ball would come out of there like a rocket. Doesn't matter I guess if your as tall as a house and the ball always hits its target. Probably something that could be corrected anyway with a good college QB coach.

This kid is awful.

I noticed that they made his "highlight" tape there based on games versus really bad teams. He did not fair so well last year, and this year to date, against the better schools on their schedule (i.e. MUS, CBHS).

Talked with a couple of local coaches who echoed the "this kid is not very good" sentiment. Briarcrest is a school that has produced some good talent in years past (Oher, Hardy, Long) and has a new coach that will do well in time. They have a big OL recruit who is a Junior (brother of Long who is at UGA).

Word here is that TN did not seem to impressed by this kid as a QB.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one that wasn't impressed in the least bit by this young man.

I am sure that they have cherry picked his touchdown passes but it looked to me like he is a good high school quarterback. From the plays shown in the film: For a big guy he moves pretty well in the pocket when pressured which is better than JC for the most part. He puts the ball where it needs to be with pretty good touch - leading the receivers, etc. again something that JC has struggled with. A lot of fades and I would have to agree with other astute observers most of these passes were of the floating variety and he does appear to push his passes. Someone perhaps needs to work on his mechanics? Just my thoughts. From what I see here I doubt we would be chasing him very hard if at all, but hey I am just a fan not a scout or recruiter. Good luck to him -- from Knoxvegas.

he has been primarily a basketball player until this year.....I think you will alot of improvement over this year and next year.....this is his 1st year starting on varsity and he is playing very well for a 1st year kid......the size alone will attract D-1 attention.....he just has to continue to develop....

The word lately around Memphis is that this is a kid that a couple of SEC teams, TN included, have visited with this kid just in case he blows up over the summer because of his size. Impression that I have gotten several times is that he is expected to be a low to mid level D1.

A kid getting mail does is not even worth the postage it took to get there unless it has an official scholarship letter in it.

Briarcrest has produced several D1 kids, so recruiters are naturally going to visit the school when they are in town. Just because they visit with this kid along the way does not mean they came to BCS just for him.

At this point, this kid has proven nothing. He is getting some looks because of his size. Piling up numbers against really bad Memphis City Schools and lower tier private schools are not a feat. This kid was below average when playing the likes of CBHS and MUS.

All that aside, welcome to VolNation Mr. Johnson. :hi:

Now really, WTF was the point of bumping this after 9 months to be a prick?

Well if you finally got something right you probably would do this too. Hey look I was right in ridiculing a high school kid I am so awesome.
