First offer was from Maryland....has added subsequent offers from South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. No favorites yet, has visited Maryland and Virginia already, and has heard from Notre Dame, LSU, UCLA, Oregon, and Michigan

he's the greatest human being and football player of all time.

I've spoken to him a few times. Seems like a nice and laid back guy.

Wouldn't go as far as calling him the greatest human being and football player of all time. I would probably go with somebody like Myron Rolle or even Wayne Lyons.

Though Menchville went 2-8 last season, Richardson showed his vast potential. He played quarterback, wide receiver, running back, free safety, cornerback and returned kickoffs.

He ran for 643 yards and five touchdowns last season, passed for 222 yards and two interceptions, had seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown and registered three interceptions on defense, including one he returned for a touchdown. In his first two high school seasons, he accumulated more than 1,500 yards of total offense.

ATH 6-1/185

The Menchville athlete is the most versatile prospect in the state from the Class of 2011 after having lined up at one time or another at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker, cornerback and safety for the Monarchs while accounting for 1,026 yards and thirteen touchdowns in 2008. With 4.4 speed, Richardson will rank as one of the speediest prospects in the Commonwealth and combines a winning attitude with a strong competitiveness which is why he has already drawn offers from ACC, Big East, and SEC schools.

"I'm trying to be a five-star recruit," said Richardson, who finished last season with 202 carries for 1,268 rushing yards (second in the Peninsula District regular season) and 11 touchdowns to go along with 12 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown for the 2-8 Monarchs. "That's one of my goals. I'm trying to be the best in the country."

He already has a good head start on garnering his fair share of recruiting-service love, considering he has scholarship offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Miami, South Carolina, East Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina State, Maryland and Old Dominion.

His performance in events like a 7-on-7 league at Rutgers later this month, a Nike-sponsored camp in Blacksburg in the spring and possibly camps at West Virginia, Penn State and South Carolina will determine if he gets the five-star attention he's seeking. Richardson, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior, is being recruited by most schools as a wide receiver, but others are looking at him as a running back.

Interest in Peninsula players likely to rise - dailypress.com

"I'm not going to stress over the recruiting process but I am going to take my five visits and see places before making my decision. My dad told me to just take everything slow and be sure. He does not want me to decommit so I want to be sure when I make a decision," says Richardson.

He will have plenty of programs to sift through when making a decision as the 4.4 speedster currently holds offers from Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia, East Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, West Virgina, Old Dominion, Tennessee, and N.C. State with plenty more coming over the course of the next few months.

Tennessee - "I haven't talked to any on staff there since the change."

Not surprised that he hasn't heard from the new staff yet. I'm sure they're still evaluating kids for the 2011 class since they were completely focused on the previous class for the first two weeks.

The Vols were one of the first teams to offer Richardson. But that was under the previous staff. He had a good relationship with former Tennessee assistant Willie Mack Garza. Tennessee is a school that he hopes to take a long and hard look at.

"I don't know too much, but they are someone I'd like to get to know better," Richardson said. "I'm not sure if they are going to honor my scholarship offer since they have a new staff. I'm waiting to hear from them."

The coaches cannot call the players right now. They can call the players coaches, just not the players. That is the hold-up.

Not doubting you but why are we hearing things like saban talking to Arnett, i believe i recently saw on espn that they just spoke to each other and saban just offered.

Hubbs is the one that said the coaches can't call.

Players can call the coaches as often as they want however.
