Scout.com: Melvin Gordon Profile

Gordon was at camp today and picked up a Vol offer.

He also holds offers from every school in the Big 10 (besides tOSU), Cincy, Lou, Syr, and Wash St.

On Rivals, he rated as a 4star, #217 overall, and the #1 player in Wisconsin.

seriously, has anyone from IT or VQ established a relationship with anyone on our staff?

They have lost most contact with the Football Team and are quickly losing their handle on the BB Team. Coaches turning over will do that, now they get what the Coaches want them to have, like every other College in America.

funny while I was watching his hilights I was thinking he's someone who would fit in with Kirk Farenz ground game...

and then just now I read article on scout, where he says that Iowa is his clear leader.

LV, Has anyone posted pics from camp yet? I read on a thread last night the "vol american" was going to post some around 10 or 11 but now I can't even find that thread.

I'll hang up and listen to your comments . . . .

So what did Gordon like about Tennessee? “Man, it was everything,” he said. “It’s great. The coaches are amazing and I love the atmosphere there. It’s a great location too. You can see the mountains from the practice field and it’s a great town. There’s a lot to do there."

Iowa leads but he's planning on taking all 5 official visits.

"It went great," Gordon said of the camp and visit on Rocky Top. "I did pretty good. I was running a little hurt. I did what I could. They thought they I performed pretty well."

"Going down there I knew what I had to do and what I wanted to come out with," Gordon offer. "Going down there they were one of my top schools. It was great down there. I liked it a lot. I liked the area, the mountains and stuff. They are definitely one of my top schools."

"I want to definitely check out Tennessee, Michigan State and Iowa. I will definitely take officials to those schools."

- Rivals

Sounds like the Vols are firmly in his top 3.

At this point, Gordon has put any other college trips on hold, as he gets ready for his senior season. However, he does have a few schools that stand out a little.

"There are a few I like," Gordon said. "I like Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State and Tennessee. I like Alabama, but they haven't offered yet. They said they like me, they just need to watch me on film."

Gordon plans to take official visits before he selects a college.

"I'll take as many as I need to -- to make my final decision," he said.

Hope Bama doesnt want him

He's a RB in HS, so if he plans on playing RB in college, I doubt Bama offers him. If he's planning to play DB, they might offer. We should try to get him either way.

Question: Are there any schools that you would label dark horses in your recruitment?

Gordon: Well, Tennessee is in the race. I like them a lot. I want to check out Michigan. I really didn’t get to see much when I went down there. So, I do want to take an official there.

Question: It’s rare for skill position players from Wisconsin to land SEC offers. How did it feel when Tennessee offered?

Gordon: It felt good. No one thinks that Wisconsin boys are any good. I had a little chip on my shoulder. I was really happy when I came out of that camp with an offer.

He is visiting Iowa this weekend.
