12 of 18 of obama's "bipartisan" dept panel to be democrats

The commission will have 18 members. Six of them, including the co-chairmen, will be chosen by the president. Another six of them, divided evenly between the parties, will be chosen by the majority and minority leaders in the House. And six of them will be chosen by the leaders of both parties in the Senate.

That's the only reference I could find to how the commission will be made up. I didn't see anything that gave the split you reference. Are you just assuming he will appoint only Democrats?

This is a chicken shat way for BHO to hide behind this "panel" and not take the blame for failure over the next three years.
"We can not continue to spend the way we are spending"....BRILLIANT!

Yes, because we didn't have record spending or deficits under Bush and Obama has had one full budget cycle so its all his fault, obv.

Barry and the rest of the dems voted for every spending bill Bush signed. And Barry has made Bush look like the most fiscally conservative president ever.

yes. i have common sense.

Well, that makes your thread title a bit misleading, doesn;t it?

And I see you neglect to mention that for any proposal to get the group's endorsement at least 14 must vote for it.

Don't let pesky facts get in the way of your blind, if not completely contrived, outrage.

From the article:

Another six of them, divided evenly between the parties, will be chosen by the majority and minority leaders in the House. So he's picked two already. And one was Simpson, a Republican. You owe me $100. And counting .....

eh, I don't think it will matter much anyway. Both parties have failed at the debt problem recently. This whole idea will be an epic fail.

We have debt. Our politicians overspend. Our economy faces hardship. Blue ribbon panel adjourned...
