6'3/170
East St. Louis, IL

No ESPN scouting report sadly.

Plays point guard. One of the top 100 players in the country. Also being looked at Illinois and Missouri. Tennessee has offered.

6'3 2013 wing Deshawn Munson from East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, IL is quite similar to Davis and is actually an even better athlete.

He personifies the undersized athletic slasher who consistently gets it done around the basket. In addition, Munson plays hard from start to finish and is as active as anyone you will find at 6'3. Munson loves to play above the rim and is more than capable of providing a few highlight reels.

We also like the fact that he is a tremendous passer on the break. While Munson is a fantastic mid-range scorer, he lacks shooting range and like Davis, that will more than likely determine what college level he ends up at.

East St Louis got a tough win Thursday in a 70-67 victory over Springfield Southeast in the quarterfinals of the Collinsville Holiday Tournament.

Class of 2013 shooting guard Deshawn Munson was awesome for the Flyers! He finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He attacks the hoop with authority and gets to the line at a high rate (7-9 FT). What separates Munson is his elite speed and court vision in transition. He also is a great on-the-ball defender.

Good analysis:
Downside: Struggles in classroom.

No problem. It really makes no sense in either case, as the largest river in North America separates them. Not to mention state lines.

Yeah.

This should be interesting.

I noticed for 2013, we are in on a couple more point guards (Munson and Josh Newkirk) while having Landry committed. I'm curious to see if they pick up another PG.

Deshawn Munson

This has some stats from his highschool tourney. Also states that he is a Division 1 player but may wind up in Juco. Kind of makes you wonder about if grades are the issue and if he has a solid year in Juco and develops his game more who will start showing interest. May be one to watch for later down the road

CCM will have to boot a player or two to get him and D Thompson on the roster.

Munson would get serious looks from good schools if he had the grades.
