Desmond Ringer
6'9" 230 lbs
#8 Center
2013 Class

Strengths:
Ringer is a big strong athlete that has excellent feet and hands for a young developing post player. His game is not flashy, but subtle. The more you watch him play you like him. He has a good feel in the low post and is patient offensively after the catch; he is starting to blossom offensively. He is an aggressive rebounder on both ends of the floor and knows how to use his size and strength to his advantage defensively.

Weaknesses:
As a younger post that was more physically mature than the majority of his competition he was able to get away with some bad habits and still be successful, but he has quickly adjusted is still developing as a young post player.

Bottom Line:
Although he recently suffered a torn ACL that may sideline him for an extended time, Ringer is still considered one of the top 2013 prospects in Georgia's 2013 class. As he works to recover from his injury the high majors will be tracking his progress closely.

.........................

according to scout we are the only offer besides Mercer and Jacksonville State. He apparently tore his ACL and missed most of last season from my understanding. So i am guessing not many recruited him during that time, so maybe the fact CCM got in there and offered will go a long ways.

Edit: reports say Marquette has also offered.

Marquette and Tulane have also offered according to Rivals.
From what I'm reading he was one of the most sought after PFs in GA before his injury.

According to Morris Gordon of the Southern Kings, Class of 2013 big man Desmond Ringer suffered a torn ACL on Tuesday night in an Eagles Landing game.

Ringer is expected to miss the rest of this season and the AAU travel season, Gordon noted.

According to this article he is playing this year.

yea he actually was able to return in june to play aau ball according to what i read, never hear of such a quick turnaround from acl tear.

we apparently were one of the few schools that continued to recruit the big man even after the injury so that may eventually pay of for us. from what i read jackson and mercer had offered and then marquette right before the injury, we came in soon after and also offered. as of now we are still the only big schools to have offered.

here is an article from about 2 weeks ago from his team...

That is a quick turn around and pretty good stats for the game.
Shows he's on track.
Might be a kid to watch next year.

absolutely. this '13 class should be very solid with all the guys CCM is really in on, you can afford to swing for the fence on a few like hubbs, and williams and will still be ok if you miss.

Would be that true C we really need to sign in the 13' class. Add him to PF Austin Nichols and are frontline with Yemi should still b a strong point.

Bump.

I honestly think he is going to be a beast at center.

I would take him over Rimmer and Agau...IMO.

This is something we both have been really high on for a while. Agau has that "it" factor going on.

I expect Agau to be playing in the NBA in a few years barring injury, really like the kid. He named Georgetown a favorite though and they have a great history of big men so may be hard to pull him.

If it means anything I'd trade him for JW3.

Agau's raw athleticism makes his potential so high. If he can continue to refine his game with that type of athleticism he'll be a beast. Ringer seems like a true center to me as far as style and that has several benefits to it as well.

Agau is going to be a beast wherever he plays. Either guys blocking shots in the paint is just fine with me though ;)
