Alex Fountain
Central High School Wartburg
Guard/Forward
Junior
6'7" 195lbs

He is thin but strong as an ox. His vertical is out of the gym (40") and has an awesome mid-range game. He also has the ability to step back and shoot the 3...

He plays for AAU Travelers and is averaging 15.2 ppg. This is the same AAU team that Tyler Smith, Scotty Hopson and other great UT players have been on.

He's not even skimmed the surface of his abilities. This kid is legit and will start accumulating offers like crazy by the middle of this season!

Don't let the small 2A school keep you from checking into this kid. Book it you will be seeing more of him. This kid is on track to break all the Morgan County basketball records as well as school records. You will see this kids name start popping up more and more.

2011-2012 Averages:
25 pts/game
17 rbds/game

Rocky Top League Averages:
16.5 pts/game
Voted All-League First Team

Georgia
Belmont

Saw him play in high school, played against him in a summer league.

He's definitely good for small school east TN, but not D1 good. And way too skinny. My 185 frame could push him around. If he gained 30 pounds and moved to memphis and averaged similar numbers, then I'd offer.

You guys are dumb!! My name is Jonathan. This is not Alex. I WAS BORN IN 1984...Morons, just because someone posts stuff like this on here doesn't mean its the person they're talking about. Just because a thread is started about Alex Poythress doesn't mean he's the one that started it!

Think before you type morons!

Is this guy being condescending? IDK... he looks marginal from the videos due to playing against a bunch of 5'9" white kids, but the UD and UGA offers do generate a little bit of interest.

Poor attempt at humor, assuming he failed a few times. Sorry. Off my game a bit tonight. Need a drink.
:)

Haha I actually looked at his SN for like five minutes trying to figure what the heck you where talking about. :)

If he was black, then maybe I would want CCM to offer him.

I know Alex. I like Alex. Alex is in no way an S.E.C. Player. Belmont would be a good fit maybe, another Matthew Dotson. Not bad at all, just won't be at that caliber.

Showing a kid that's 6'7" dunking says nothing. If he was raining 3's that would be of interest. Did seem to have a decent handle.

For OP, Scotty Hopson did not play with TN Travelers, MidState Ballerz was his AAU team. Vincent Yarbrough played with the Travs, and he would classify more as a TN great than Hopson anyway.
