i agree, but vol917 raises a good point.Sad to read but political?
Yet there are so many cries not to politicize every shooting. I just fail to see any political motivation for this outside of many other incidents covered in the protect and serve thread. The ones that lead to bigger incidents are often separate for that reasonDon't we politicize every police involved shooting now or do we just pick and choose by ones race?
I agree with you and whole heartily admit being childish for starting this thread however I did it and I'm not sorry lolYet there are so many cries not to politicize every shooting. I need more facts. “autistic” kid means nothing. Clearly someone called 911 saying he was violent. Did he have a weapon? Did the 911 caller say he did? What happened when police got there? We will know more after the body cams and 911 calls are releasedi agree, but vol917 raises a good point.
what does make something "political" to be accepted as worthy of a thread? does a politician have to sound off on it? Or there be a disagreement between sides? Seems like the base issue here is political forum worthy.
Seems like everyone should agree cops probably* shouldn't be shooting autistic kids. But its happened and there likely needs to be a change. That need of change makes it political even if no one is stumping on it.
This is always the angle I thought BLM should have taken. They should be pointing out every questionable shooting. they want change, real change. in this case real change should be improving the cop interactions in all these situations. It shouldn't be focused on cop interactions in only certain situations.

Article says mom called and told the cops no weapon.I need more facts. “autistic” kid means nothing. Clearly someone called 911 saying he was violent. Did he have a weapon? We get one every time a Democrat or Trump farts so why not? Excessive use of force isn't reserved for black people. You can argue systemic racism doesn't exist in our criminal justice system but you can't deny the cops propensity to use excessive force and you can't deny the system that lets them get away with it. Maybe this thread can highlight this absent ethnicity. Too often cops charge in without properly evaluating the situation.Yeah that was exactly my point. Do we really want a new thread every single time a cop uses their weapon?
I think we need to give them alternatives to dealing with the public......we pretty much ban anything that half way works in detaining a suspect. We get one every time a Democrat or Trump farts so why not?
