Size-Strength-Range
Bryant is a dominant run stopper with the size, strength, range and playing speed for the inside linebacker position at the BCS level of play. He will most likely be able to support additional bulk over time. A physically strong player who plays big at the point of attack while demonstrating strong tackling skills. Displays excellent range with the ability to change direction, turn and run to the sideline.
Instincts/Take On Skills
This prospect is very instinctive. He gets off the mark quickly and isn't fooled by misdirection plays. Demonstrates excellent key and diagnosis reaction skills as a run defender. Attacks downhill and doesn't get out of position. Demonstrates the upper body playing strength and leverage needed to take on and defeat blockers at the point of attack. Moves though traffic with the quickness and balance to avoid blockers and still make plays in tight spaces.
Tackling
A punishing tackler capable of knocking ball carriers back to where they came from. Very efficient in space and doesn't allow cheap yards after contact.
3rd Down Capabilities
His size, athleticism and toughness should prove very effective as a pass defender and rusher. Demonstrates the ability to overpower linemen at his present level with his overall playing strength and quickness. Displays a very good closing burst to the quarterback. Will need to polish coverage skills, but we see good underneath route awareness along with the ability to plant and break on short to medium throws. His athleticism and playing speed suggests man coverage potential.
Bottom Line
Does a good job covering kickoffs and should be able to do a variety of jobs on special teams effectively. Bryant's motor along with his outstanding athleticism and toughness could earn him early playing time at the BCS level of competition.
