'14 DC CB D'Andre Payne (UT commit 4/3/13)

would be nice...but Cortez and Payne are both visiting for the O&W game. Lots of speculation that both will commit then or possibly before then.

need to get payne on board now so we have more and more help recruiting. seems these days that fellow recruits are just as much if not more of an influence on where kids go than coaches.

most definitely...also, the perception and reality of our class being ranked highly also helps.

Somebody told me they don't think he can start 4 years, but Truitt could, I think they both could. Payne will be able to, I still believe it. Maybe not start because of return starters, but play, yes. breaker boy was the one that said he wouldn't then right after said Truitt would. Either way, I want them both.

The staff absolutely loves Truitt. I know one of the defensive coaches in particular considers him one of the elite corner prospects in this class. They need about 5 quality corners in this class although I think getting 3 top notch ones is more realistic. Give me 3 of Payne, Smith, Gaulden and Autry/Truitt and it's an amazing cornerback haul.

MH imo I believe we get all of those but Autry. What say you big guy?

autry is offense. vic is offense from the sounds of the staff but i could see him going either way depending on the roster after signing day. truitt will be a corner but it would not surprise me at all to see him make an appearance on offense, hes that good an athlete.

possible cb options: payne, dj smith, gaulden, truitt, wes green, k gibson, evan berry, vic.

possible safety options: tkjr, glass, mcdowell, reavis, d west

reavis, elliot berry could become olb

look for the staff to take a minimum of 8 dbs. more like ten so they can convert a couple to faster olbs as theyve shown they want to do.

i thought Truitt would play offense?

Evan Berry is a safety all the way.

Total Offense - 14

Total Class w/o DBs - 25

Not sure what our total number is for this season - 30-32? I think we need several DBs, but I don't see how we're getting 8-10. I guess we could manage if the coaches really wanted though.

That is the million dollar question. The offensive staff wants him on their side. I wasn't saying he was a cornerback for sure if he came to Tennessee, I was saying one of the defensive guys on the staff wants him at cornerback and think he's an elite prospect there.

wow when you see it broken down like that it almost seems like we have nowhere near the room for all the guys we want at every position even with taking 32. so does creamer count as one of the wr? what about wharton? and i thought we wanted 3 rbs?

I see 6 DB's max being taken. The question is where do prospects like the Berry's project best at?

according to one of the recruits (Kinlaw I think), the coaches said we will be taking 3 rbs this haul

Imo Evan is a SS and Elliott OLB. Reavis Ss that can convert to OLB. Smith, Gaulden, Payne at CB, McDowell can play either safety position, and TKJr at FS

I believe that depends on the talent we are in on at other spots.

Probably how guys perform during the season and injuries shake out. I can see going with 4-6 at LB and Oline. I can also see 1-3 TEs.

The must, I think, is 6-8 Dlinemen.

We have 24 spots open as of now. If Richardson leaves early then 25. Attrition of 6-7 players would be expected to sign 30+

Per ESPN.

"Florida State, Tennessee, Clemson and Vanderbilt," the ESPN Watch List cornerback from Washington (D.C.) Friendship said when asked what schools he was considering.

The 5-foot-9, 169-pound prospect said he will commit quietly before noon on April 3. There will be no press conference.

Have a feeling I know one place where it will not be quiet...Bring the Payne!
