James was solid as a freshman. Doubt he would have played if we'd had anyone else, but he held his own.

Several guys have played well after a redshirt year to get stronger.

That's kind of my point. Strength and conditioning alone makes it difficult for a freshman O-lineman to come in and make a splash, let along the steep increase in competition. It takes at least a year to get strong enough, or have the necessary increase in endurance, or both. Most of these guys dominate at the high school level, which is why technique generally has to be shored up.

What I like about this commit is that the size, strength, and work ethic are already there for Brown. And Butch Jones has showed what him and Mahoney can do with under the radar O-linemen. Imagine what he can do with a stud.

I'm not saying they're polished, but some have better technique than others. Brown is very, very raw right now. Not every HS OLineman is that raw coming out of HS.

So if he picked UGA he'd be a raw-dawg?

If the recruiting agencies want to pizz into the wind and look stupid for rating a player low, whom most major programs have offered...that's on them.

CBJ's boy, Eric Fisher was a 2 star. Didn't stop him from being the No.1 overall pick in this years draft.
