'14 IL LB Clifton Garrett

Does anyone know about the possible implications of the SI Oklahoma State story for Les Miles? He was the head coach at OK State when the Orange Pride program started having sex with recruits. If he receives some kind of punishment, do you guys think Clifton Garrett would end up at UT since various recruiting services have said that UT is LSU's only competition for Garrett?

I think the institution of OK State would be in bigger trouble than Les Miles as long as he admits nothing. I wouldn't expect this to be a factor in Garrett's recruitment.

LSU isn't exactly known for star LBs... they are definitely DBU though.

Eh, but the fact remains people need to quit thinking their opinions and comments are more important than what they actually are and let the coaches do the recruiting. Twitter has allowed idiots to communicate with people they have no business communicating with.

Any recent news on Garrett? Are we still trailing LSU?

I haven't heard anything but LSU on this one, he is out of state so you never know. MLB is definitely the weak point of LSU right now... an immediate fight for the position on day one is available.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I just came across this nugget in an ESPN article...

Four-star lineman Charles Mosley (Brighton, Tenn./Brighton High) is set to decide on Oct. 4 with the Vols squarely in the mix along with Alabama. Tennessee also remains in the mix for ESPN 300 prospects Josh Malone (Gallatin, Tenn./Station Camp High), defensive end DeWayne Hendrix (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon Township High), linebacker Clifton Garrett (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South High), cornerback D.J. Smith (Marietta, Ga./Walton High) and end Dante Sawyer (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett High) among others with defensive line and linebacker being a top remaining priority. Hendrix and Garrett are set to officially visit Knoxville on Oct. 4.

But I would rather them warm up in orange then come out in gray. When Kiffin did that with the black it was amazing.

The crowd went crazy when they came out in the Black. There was so much energy in Neyland that night. The Vols came out & put the smack down on Spurrier & his cocks..

I couldn't resist

This one could easily swing in our favor with all of the negative vibes surrounding Miles and his time at Ok St and LSU with drug problems.

One of my fav games I've ever been to.

The only difference about that game was that nobody knew they were doing it. The gray will have a big effect but it would be better if it wasn't announced, which according to DP it will be.

Wouldn't it be harder to do because they have gray pants? They would have to change the pants and the jersey which would take forever. If my memory serves me right back in the Kiffin days it was orange pants and black jerseys. Still would be cool though.

U.S. Army All-American Selection Tour: Clifton Garrett

“I have to take all my officials,” Garrett said. “Every school has a shot at this point. LSU is not the clear shot leader but I like them a lot."

Garrett talked about each of his five finalists.

Florida: “Florida impressed me a huge amount. I got to see everything I wanted to see when I went down there. I got a chance to hang out with the players and coaches and it was a great time.”

LSU: “They’re just having a dominant season. LSU has been out there playing LSU football. Having a dominant season, both on defense and offense, out there playing real hard. I talk with them all the time.

Ole Miss: “Ole Miss is on a roll. They’re winning all their games so far. They’re having a good time out there. They’re out there playing. They had a good recruiting last season and they’re working on a good one this season.”

Oregon: “I’m looking at taking an official there. I know one of their coaches came by my school last week but I wasn’t there. I’m looking to setup a fifth official to go out there.”

Tennessee: “I just want to see everything they have to offer. They’ve been playing tough football. They’re in the rebuilding process obviously, but they’re a tough team and good SEC program.”
