'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

I don't understand some of the rationale on here. When someone flips to us, he's welcomed with open arms and applauded for "seeing the light." When someone flips away from us, he's a dirty liar that lacks morals. By that reasoning, I guess people like Josh Dobbs didn't understand the meaning of the word "commitment" and need a lesson in what's wrong and what's correct, right? I personally wish Davonte the best of luck at Auburn and hope he helps beat Bama many times.
You don't understand irrational nerd rage. How many times have you followed recruiting? The familiar faces generally know this crap comes with the territory when following these kids making life changing decisions. I've been away for a while but there is generally one to two absolute meltdowns a year, most of the time those players don't do anything at those programs as well.

Congratulations to the kid. He chose Auburn, the team he wanted to be on. Tennessee has to win on the field folks. We haven't in 4 years. These are the types of players that will help get you to the top. Butch Jones, some way, some how has got to find a way to sign these types of players. Tennessee lost today. It hurts, but we'll sign our fair share. It's been time to put up or shut up (on the field).

Put up or shut up (on the field)? You have to have good players to do that. Recruiting comes first not wins on the field.

I'll say this little piece and say no more about it.

I'm accepting of some of the dirty politics that goes on with recruiting. It comes with the territory. But when a guy commits, advertises that commitment for months with the whole #VFL bit, and basically lies to the coaches a day in advance, I lose respect for his word and loyalty. And in the end, a man's word and loyalty is going to carry him farther than any talent on the football field.

I'm fully aware this goes both ways, but I much more respect a man like Lavon Pearson, and it's not just because he signed with us. If you haven't read his quotes today, I suggest you go take a look at them. That is how you handle the situation with class and character.

I hope DaVonte has much success at Auburn and in the NFL, but I can't respect him.

What is it gonna take for this program to pull in a top tier DT or DE for once. We're killing recruiting this year. But man we really do lack in big uglies year after year.

Wouldn't have been a problem if he'd handled it the right way. Telling everybody all along he was solid to us was a POS move.

Dobbs got a better opportunity to showcase his skills in the SEC on a bigger stage with better resources to help him succeed. Arizona State couldn't compete with that. I get your point though. But it just hurts as a fan of TENNESSEE. Going to Auburn feels like a lateral move from our perspective. Can't it just be okay to be angry about things not going your way for a little while? There's been too much of that the last few years. Would love to catch a damn break once in a while. To catch a damn break on the field, you gotta catch some damn breaks in recruiting. This is a loss. We will be fine, but it's still a loss.

I just want to apologize to everyone! I was wrong, I thought he would stick to his word! I said on here this mornin for everybody to relax and not freak out and I was wrong! So with that said let's go find the next guy that wants to be a VOL!!

That's not why I'm mad, I never belittle or hate on a recruit that doesn't choose us or even flips from us. That's childish to do.

No what I am angry about is the ****ty way he did this and how he has been boldfacedly lying to our coaches. THAT is upsetting.

What really pisses me off is all the love and time Butch and staff invested in this kid throughout the whole process and to get spit on in the end burns my a$$.

I felt way back before he committed to us he was infatuated with Garner/Auburn. Surprised he ever committed to us.

I hope Blair, Wiesman, Crowder and co. absolutely destroy him next year!!

The page you quoted is a fan. In other words, it's some jack leg with a twitter.

It is not the twitter account ran by Todd Kelly created for recruiting purposes as was implied in the OP.

Figured it out....my apologies....tweet was still funny but would have been better coming from the legit account.
