I hope he is in. If he gets on campus in a couple of week and gets himself in shape he could make a huge impact on defense

Who said we didn't need Dews? He decommitted, that doesn't mean we didn't need him. They are 2 different classes. Weathered is a Jr and Dews would've been a Fr. I don't understand your logic.

MDO said Thigs told him they were all good at Sam/Leo....

Thus, only way we would take Dews was at safety. He decommitted cause Thigs told him to open it back up.

I think Weatherd making it in could be the reason too.

I agree with this. No way Weathered is the reason we are not taking Dews. We're probably just in on some better talent for this recruiting cycle.

This. Whatever the reason, Dews is not coming here as a Sam LB… It sounds like the only way he will be a part of the 2015 class is if the coaches see that he can ball out as a SS.

I thought MDO said that they told Dews they wanted him to play SS. I don't like how this played out, but I guess it's part of recruiting.

I doubt one had anything to do with the other. It sounded to me like the UT staff had not been in contact with Dews for quite sometime. Most who follow recruiting can take what you want from that. When they finally spoke, Thig gave him a reason and advised him to look elsewhere. IMO the staff had moved on a while ago and Jerome just was not advised.

So... I loved the idea of bringing Dews in last year. I still think the kid will be a VERY good player, but if you look at the level of recruiting that Butch and Co have done, he really may not have a place. we are recruiting over current players and current recruits. I never saw this coming and it really bodes well for the future.:peace2:
