Back in 2006. Florida was a nasty state to recruit. Every kid wanted to go to UF. He was a long time commit to them then he flipped. After he enrolled here his high school which was in Florida mysteriously pulled two of his credits. It's all speculation but that's what I believe happened.

I may have misunderstood something I read elsewhere that I thought indicated he was not enrolling 2nd semester of summer school. If that were the case it looks bad and he is here for a visit only. If he is indeed enrolling all is great !!!

It's always a crapshoot when a Juco kid does not make it in on time. I am hoping him being there says he has made it in and will play this year. I seriously doubt he would be there just to visit. I'd imagine if he did not make it in time to start the season I don't think the staff would continue to recruit him.

Tennessee JUCO linebacker signee Chris Weatherd is telling people he's either en route to Knoxville today or actually in Knoxville today.

I just heard again from Tennessee that things are up in the air, though, and that he hasn't been officially cleared to enroll. Perhaps he came here to stay with a friend on the team or something like that. I don't know.

Let's put it this way: If Weatherd were officially in UT and qualified and all of that, UT would be preparing a dorm room for him. UT has not prepared a dorm room for him as of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
I know this is confusing, but this is the latest we have, and I trust this information — or else I wouldn't report it.

This sucks. You know he really wants to suit up for the Vols. He's probably making a trip just see his boys and he may not even qualify to make the team. Sad. Wish he was able to knock the academics out and it be no problem. But these sort of things longer even if he made it in and he could be a casualty to the grades later in his Tennessee career.

Hard to feel bad for the guy. Get your academics in line and you can play. It is that simple. Apparently he's having a tough time doing that. Is this another Bruce Irving situation? Possibly...

I would like to believe that he has the grades taken care of. Second session classes don't start til July 8th. I like our chances I don't think he'd be here otherwise.

First hand knowledge...Chris is moving his stuff to Knoxville and will make more than one trip (direct quote: ive got too manu shoes to move at one time).

When asked when he will be on campus full time he said "after July 3rd", which means after the last session of summer school has started. He will NOT be eligible to enroll until Fall semester but has begun moving to Knoxville.

Last day for first session is July 3rd with second session starting on July 8 per UT website. What you say may be true,idk. Seems strange he would move to Knoxville that early though.

Will he be able to use the football facilities before he's enrolled or take part in "volunteer" workouts?

Maybe it's a few weeks into the season before he's at full speed. Bright side is he will be back for his senior season. Of course I said the same thing about CP. Not comparing the two in any way.
